I'm pretty sure that this one is going to get a thumbs down (math major here), but I can't help but ask because it sounds like such a cool book...
The 7½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle

This one will not work because the number must be a whole number. No halves sorry
Would this one work? It's "a" thousand and not "one" thousand... A Thousand Brains: A New Theory of Intelligence
Mai wrote: "Would this one work? It's "a" thousand and not "one" thousand... A Thousand Brains: A New Theory of Intelligence"
Yes
Jayme wrote: "I wanted to check wouldTwelve Sharp and Size 12 Is Not Fat work for this task?"
Yes they both work
Andy
I have the book One Thousand White Women. The copy I have is this one
but since the author wrote a second book it is now classified on GR as The Journals of May Dodd with "One Thousand White Women" as the subtitle. Can you give me a yes or no for this?
Thanks
Tammy AZ wrote: "I have the book One Thousand White Women. The copy I have is this one

The rest is the sub-title. This is backed up by WorldCat records AND GR guidelines for title (which aren't always the same, but are here).
Just my 2 cents worth

InSherlock Holmes: The Sign of Seven, is the second part considered a subtitle (which means it won't work?)
Robin P wrote: "InSherlock Holmes: The Sign of Seven, is the second part considered a subtitle (which means it won't work?)"Correct, The words to the right of the colon are the subtitle so it will not work, Sorry

I think not because the task states integers (0-9_ which does not include integers.
Sorry
I need clarification on what is meant by "a whole number that stands alone"Would Mexican Hooker #1: And My Other Roles Since the Revolution work, or does the # sign disqualify it?

Mod Note
I have already rejected #number, it does not work

Drat! I'll see if this fits somewhere else...
I am planning to use Fahrenheit 451 (249 pages), andI am in possession of a hard bound version of The Two Assassins by Renatus Hartogs and Lucy Freeman, published in 1965, 264 pages. Library of Congress Catalog Card No. 65-26435
The only listing I can find for this book on Goodreads (linked above) is the paperback edition says it was first published in 1976 (clearly incorrect), and doesn't list number of pages. It also doesn't come up in the add book/author tool (I had to type it in manually above).
I have a post in the "anyone with Librarian status" thread asking for a correction to the Goodreads main page for this book. If they fix this, these two books will work, correct?

I went ahead and added the hardcover and updated the mass market pb.
for book 2 can the number be found intact in another word or does it have to stand alone? for example could "alone" work as it contains "one"?
I've got the book 10:14 by Ben Lerner. I think the : would disqualify it given they are all part of one "word," but wanted to check.
Florence wrote: "for book 2 can the number be found intact in another word or does it have to stand alone? for example could "alone" work as it contains "one"?"The operative words are stand alone one does not stand alone in this title so it wont work.
Amy wrote: "I've got the book 10:14 by Ben Lerner. I think the : would disqualify it given they are all part of one "word," but wanted to check."You are correct. It won't work

It didn't specify stand alone for book 2 like it did for book 1 so I wanted to check, thanks for clarifying!
