In Canada there is something called Medical assistance in Dying. So far as I can tell. It is state funded assisted suicide. There was a story recently where the Canadian VA was found out to be recommending Maid to Canadian veterans with PTSD. Some of these veterans even had families.

I'm sorry, but I think assisted suicide is wrong. But maybe that is just my Christian perspective talking.

To me nothing is sadder than a young man going to war, to fight for his country which he loves. Seeing his friends die in front of him. Then come back home to his wife and kids. Find out that he no longer fits into society. Then after asking for help, the people who should be helping him, just convince him to kill himself. Just tragic, that this happens even once. Let alone countless times.

Abby | 443 comments I support medical assisted suicide. But I do agree that veterans should get help for risking their lives in for something so pointless. I think it is used more by people whose quality of life isn’t good or are terminally ill. And if someone could have a good quality of life then they should get help instead.

There was a statistic I found that said that maid was 6th highest amount of deaths in Canada. That is too much for people who are just terminally Ill.

I can understand the argument being made for people who are terminally ill. I might disagree with it, but I can understand it. I don't think is should be used on people who have a mental illness or depression. Now I'm not Canadian, so I don't know if there is restrictions on who can and can't do it. But the idea that it is recommended to someone who is not terminally ill, is just evil to me.
