Wicked Lovely question

I need help, im trying to fing a book but I don't know the author or title. Its set in moder times and its about this gir who is not actually pretty or really attractive and she is pretty awkward. Out of the blue she starts seeing fairies with no pupils in their eyes around her campus and she can tell that they are evil. She eventually meets this boy with red hair and he is mixed, this is important because you find out later his dad is a homeless African American man who seems crazy, but he had his son with an important fairy. I remember the boys mother is trying to kill the girl and take her son to the fairy realm, the girl also travels there eventually. I can't remeber how it ends exactly but I know that the girls finds the boy and he is a water dragon/ half fairy half human, and they fall in love I think. Someone please respond. Its similar to wonderous strange and wicked lovely, but very different in a way
