21st Century Literature discussion

Leonard & the Hungry Paul is Irish writer Hession's debut novel. He is a musician, as well, going under the name Mumblin' Deaf Ro. It was first published by UK small press Bluemoose Books and was longlisted for the 2020 Republic of Consciousness Prize, as well as chosen for the One Dublin One Book selection.

Well, I'm in! Two chapters on, and it still carries the feeling of George and Martha. That's not a bad thing, though a bit surprising.

Glad to have you on board. Haven't read George & Martha, but I think the feeling is carried throughout the book (we'll see!).

I'm in, as well. This book grabbed me in the first sentence. I'll be traveling for a week, so will chime in later.

I read, and liked this book, in February 2020 when it was nominated for the RoC prize. I will not be re-reading but will follow the discussions and comment if it makes sense.
