To be honest...I was looking forward to reading this one because the idea of two people meeting on the same day every year seemed such an interesting idea for a romance novel. However, the more I read the more toxic Ben's character got. I was definitely not expecting the ending and even though the story was told from his pov to create sympathy for him and his actions, I couldn't understand that she forgave him just like that. Also, as you mentioned, who tf is he to tell her what to wear when she doesn't feel comfortable and confident enough to do that yet??? I also felt like Fallon's whole confidence depended on Ben and he tried to make her feel beautiful just so that he'd feel less guilty about taking her career away from her and scaring her.
I know that most CoHo books are about scarred and imperfect characters, but I couldn't get into this one because it romanticised toxic behaviour.

literally. It felt weird to read it
Yeah didn’t know how to digest that Miles was the one who started the fire. Understood the assignment didn’t understand how he didn’t get in ANY kind of trouble, even after he told Fallon. Also when he ‘fell for’ his nephews mother for a period of time, legit vomit. Vomit all over the pages.

I think all of Colleen Hoover's book are kind of Y/A turned abusive and/or girl trying to stand up for herself but failing miserably at the hands of a typical "bad boy". The fact that I forgot that I read it speaks for itself.

See that totally your POV no objections but i feel like he just felt guilty about whatever he did to fallon and it definitely was his fault that she lost her confidence and everything so he was just trying to yk correct his own mistake
It was his mistake that she got scars so he is loving and he genuinely was loving her. Where no one was even ready to date her he was the one who loved her. He was the only person who helped her to gain her confidence again.

this made me laugh, I did not like this book at all and all my friends loved it! I am glad to see other people who have the same opinion <3
personally this is the book i hate the most by colleen hoover because i felt like they had no chemistry couldn't get behind them as a couple or characters and personally dont think it should have ended with them ending up together i mean i dont get how she could love him after finding out about the fire. but it was nice concept though

I wish he goes to jail for arson. There is so much abuse too.
I shove the dress back at him. “I don’t want to wear that, I want to wear this.”
“No,” he says. “I’m paying for dinner, so I get to choose what to stare at while we eat.”
Like people are crying and puking “It’s so nice”
