Originally published in 1971. Features Miss Marple (#12).

Miss Jane Marple gets a bequest from the late Mr Rafiel if she again acts 'Nemesis', justice as in A Caribbean Mystery shared ~15 months ago. On a Famous Houses and Gardens Tour, a stone rolls over Miss Temple, whose student Verity died before marrying Michael Rafiel, over "Love". Fear overlays detour with sisters Clotilde, widow Lavinia and scatty Anthea.

Aušrinė (ausrejurke) Started this one on Sunday. Four chapters in, I fell asleep. And it was at least three hours before my usual bedtime! Now I am at the same time eager and afraid to read further.

Could this be a sleepy-time elixer? Plese let us know how it goes for you!
I plan to start reading Nemesis at the end of this week...

The sleepiness hasn't repeated 😄 But the book was quite boring for me, I found it hard to get back to reading it. However, I still manage to finish it in February.

Valerie Book Valkyrie Congrats on finishing the read. I still have not started it and may reconsider reading it in the near future. Your comment has provided a valuable basis for my decision to delay. There are many more "appetizing" items on my tbr menu. Thanks so much for keeping us posted. Always Good Reads to You!

Alice | 293 comments I did read Nemisis and liked it a lot. It is the last Miss Marple book. I thought she finished off the series quite well.

Valerie Book Valkyrie Hi Alice,
So glad you enjoyed this read. I have not read it yet, also did not know it was the last Miss Marple book, thank you for the info. Would enjoy seeing you play in the Have You Read It discussion: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

What about "Sleeping Murder" and "Miss Marple's Final Cases"? They are published later than "Nemesis" but I don't know their timeline story-wise.

The July book, Sleeping Murder, is actually the last Miss Marple novel that was published. Nemesis is next to last. Miss Marple's Final Cases (August book) is a collection of short stories featuring Miss Marple that appeared in other story collections, but these are just the Marple stories.

I read Nemesis in 2017, but don’t really remember much about it, other than feeling a bit lost since I had not read A Caribbean Mystery beforehand. I did start it at end of February, but wasn’t able to finish it before end of the month.
