Just started this morning. Action-packed walking dead linear type of story and yeah they reference the zombies as Walkers too LOL.

Definitely off to a roaring start. I'm about 10% in and I just picked it up.
And I love DMS, the Department of Military Science. The system I use at work to book accounts in is called DMS. It stands for something else, but I'm thinking...yes, it will become Department of Military Science. Any other DMS users out there?
Started it a couple of days ago and am about a quarter of the way in. Enjoying it so far. It's been a while since I read a zombie book, was on a kick a couple years back but never got around to this series. It amazes me how you can take a single subject and every author comes at it from a different angle. Part of why I love being a writer I guess. Some day I'll write my own take on the zombie world, but for now I'm just enjoying Maberry's take on it.
Anybody else have a problem that the DMS guy offers Joe cookies without milk? Who serves water with cookies (bleh)? Especially Oreos. ;)

About 40 pages in, and while I'm finding the snappy dialogue to be a little forced, I think the story is great so far.

I'm reading this one "on time" this month.
I've owned this book for a while and I'm happy to have this excuse to finally get around to reading it.

Now I'm going to have to go to the store and check a bag of Oreos to see if there's any milk in the ingredients. lol
This novel I think it's quite linear hence , didn't see much discussion here as compared to Feb's Ghost Story tee hee hee
Karen wrote: "130 pages in so far... Really enjoying it! I love Jonathan Maberry, always writes a page turner"Yes, it's fun.
He's got his team, and they're about to go out.
Just over halfway through...I'm a little disappointed, since I enjoyed Maberry's Pine Deep trilogy quite a bit. It's fun and readable, but Joe Ledger just isn't grabbing me.
Going to start this one soon, I read the first few pages and I'm already liking Joe Ledger. Seems this is going to be my type of book!
I like Joe Ledger's snappy retorts. Just finished part one and its definitely a page turner. So I'm a weirdo who doesn't eat cookies with milk but I too thought it was really weird that Mr. Church's attempt at being friendly was offering two very dry cookies and water. Maybe its a reflection of his personality?
Just started and as a fan of The Walking Dead, I love the fact he refers to the zombies as Walkers as well.
Just started it last night and... I'm not sure. I don't care much about law enforcement or military things so all of the technical talk has bored me a bit.
Finished Patient Zero. While it wasn't the best zombie novel I've ever read, there were some interesting plot twists.I gave it four stars.
On page 243. Love Joe Ledger. Such a smart ass. I hope who Yank is trying to infiltrate into the DMS for Gault isn't who I think it is.....
Wow, this is a very action packed story. I love it so far. So far I haven't liked Amirah and now she's downright getting on my nerves.
I finished it tonight, and it just wasn't for me. Despite (view spoiler), I actually found it a bit boring in places, and I thought (view spoiler) was a cheap ploy used to be topical. There was a spark of an interesting novel at the end though, which makes me think the second book in the series might be better, at least plotwise.

Add me to this 1st time club :)
I just finished. As an action-packed zombie story it was pretty good. But I didn't feel as if I knew much about the characters, they seemed a little flat. I assumed it was because of the momentum of the story. Did anyone else feel the same?
