The Black Cat by Edgar Allan Poe is a story probably we all had to read during our school years and rarely liked it. However, maybe it'll be worth revisiting it together with its adaptations, maybe our older selves will give it some new perspective on it. I admit I am a bit concerned about this myself, as I adore animals and hate reading vivid descriptions of any sort of abuse, but I am willing to give this a try.
Most of the adaptations are strange and creepy just like the source material is, to be honest. Some of them, like The Black Cat from 1934 with Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi, and the one from 1941 with Basil Rathbone, bear little resemblance with the story, but they still should be entertaining to watch. Tell me which you've watched and share your thoughts and impressions with us :)
