Led Zeppelin’s references to Tolkien- Ramble On and Misty Mountain Hop.Kate Bush’s Wuthering Heights
The Unicorn by The Irish Rovers.
And all the other songs that Shel Silverstein wrote: A Boy Named Sue, The Cover of the Rolling Stone, One’s on the Way, and Sylvia’s Mother to name a few. These tick the literary and funny boxes, since he was a poet, too.
Aww...Led Zeppelin is GREAT reading music! In the late 80s as a teenager I used to read a lot while listening to music. Occasionally I found that the music resonated with similar themes to what I was reading. Example: Queensryche's Rage for Order CD really lined up with a fantasy trilogy I was reading - the Time Master series by Louise Cooper. That's just one example I can think of off the top of my head.
Now I tend to read in the quiet of my room before bed, and also on the couch while watching sports.
There's a group in Seattle called Bushwick Book Club where musicians create and perform songs based on the book of the month. https://thebushwickbookclubseattle.ba...
My absolute favorite song that I've heard was years ago Debbie Miller doing a really funny song on Alice and Wonderland:

I rarely listen to music while reading with one exception -- when on long flights, I put on my noise canceling headphones/earbuds and listen to the about 100 songs I've downloaded over the years from iTunes while I read on my Kindle, unless it is near Christmas when I listen to holiday tunes.

This question doesn't require any combination of reading and listening to music at the same time -- it centers around whether you like any songs where the content of the song is about a book, books, or reading.
Here's one I forgot that I actually like a lot:
Sting's "Moon Over Bourbon Street" inspired by Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire.

I made the whole family listen to it.
Speaking of Alice in Wonderland, I completely forgot Jefferson Airplane’s WHITE RABBIT!
