Dragonflight - McCaffrey

This wasn’t my first trip back to Pern. I’ve been enjoying this series since the early ‘80’s. I occasionally reread some of the later books, but it had been a very long time since I’d read the very first book. Long enough that I had the pleasure of slight surprise when I encountered half forgotten characters and events. The book aged better than I thought it might. McCaffrey’s world building was immersive and carefully plotted. I may have to read all of them again. I’m also going to take a look at the graphic novel adaptation, Anne McCaffrey's Dragonflight #1

It is a great world to visit, isn't it? One of my favourite things about it is the social structure, with stories that overlap or are told from different perspectives by the different characters - e.g., Robinton and Harper Hall; the different Holds, etc.

I just finished Dragonsong, I never read these books when I was younger but am enjoying this world immensely
