Kelly Green Hicks (kelly's bookish world) In October we are reading a book written by an author who is younger than you are currently.

Sheri Howard An author younger than me? At this point, that would be most all of them ;-D

message 3: by Sara (new)

Sara Kreps same.

Katherine (katscribefever) I'm reading Funeral Girl by Emma K. Ohland. 💀

Sara Kreps is there a good source for finding authors' ages? being kind of in the middle myself, and given that they have make up artists for their pics, it can be hard to tell unless they are very old or very young

Kelly Green Hicks (kelly's bookish world) We have not found a good way to do that, Sara. I just looked up the authors of a few books on my October TBR list and found one. That is probably easier at my age though! :)

Kelly Green Hicks (kelly's bookish world) I am reading The Kiss Curse by Erin Sterling. She is 42 years old. It is a book that I want to read for spooky season anyway. I read her first book in the series last year. It is called The Ex Hex. Both are cute romance books involving witches. Absolutely perfect when you want something light!

Brynn Any suggestions of an author younger than 41?

I’ve found a few but their books are not available for several weeks.

Sometimes you can google the age but it is not always listed.

Sheri Howard I found a link called 15 Authors Under 35 to Watch: https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/th...
This list only had two books on it that I've read: Born a Crime by Trevor Noah (which I loved) and The Girls by Emma Cline (which I did not...however many others did).
The Mothers by Brit Bennett is also listed here. I haven't read it, but I've read a different one by her titled The Vanishing Half which was a five-star read for me. Anyway...you may find some ideas here. Good luck!

Sheri Howard This sounds like a fun one for October and I found it on Hoopla so I'm going for it!

Sheri Howard These both look like fun reads for October! I put a hold on The Ex Hex in Libby. Hoping it becomes available soon!

Christina Read a book that I wasn’t a fan of cause it was a kids book but it was way to find a younger author. Ended up reading Lumberjanes Unicorn Power. Lol

Brooke Marsh Definitely easy at my age too - read Sarah Maas

message 16: by Brynn (new)

Brynn I read Girl Wash Your Face. Probably good depending on the season of life you’re in but for me it just fell flat.
