I make this four prize listings - Desmond Elliott (one of two books from that longlist in this shortlist - a judge was also on the longlist), RoC and Jhalak.

I gave this 4 stars and remember liking it very much.

I remember liking this, too, but have extraordinarily few recollections of it. It’s almost completely gone from memory, which goes to show I should decrease my reading speed again.

I thought this book was wonderfully written. Plus, the cover is brilliant.

I do remember that it was beautifully written.

We read a lot of books with no break between finishing one and starting the next, Debra, that’s the excuse I use for not remembering books I’ve read.

Glad I'm not alone. Memory is a strange thing.

I like novels that are centered around memory because it is so unreliable and subjective.
