This is not as good as Hocking's Trylle series or even the spin-off series the Kanin Chronicles, which I'm currently reading. I felt that not much happened and there is not enough explanation about events and characters in the book. Maybe there's more in the next three books. I know the fourth book is pretty massive in size.
I read this book already and I really didn't enjoy. I had a really hard time getting into and a lot of things didn't make sense.
I read this a while back. Although it wasn't as good as her Trylle or My Blood Approves series, I thought it was good. Hopefully I'll get around to continuing the series.
Read the whole Watersong series. For me to read a whole trilogy/series says I am really enjoying the writing. Read the whole Trylle trilogy. Love Amanda's take on trolls. Her writing keeps me reading. And I just finished Frostfire.

Does the Watersong series get better after the first book and explain what exactly is going on?
I have Wake so I will at least try it. I really enjoyed the Trylle Trilogy and Frostfire, but I only read the first book of her vampire series My Blood Approves. I started the second and it was just too dull. I think her writing, character development and storytelling is improving the more she writes. I had the chance to meet Amanda last month at a small book signing, but I got a migraine and could attend. I'm hoping to meet her in May or June when the next Kanin Chronicles book is out.
