Curious to know what you think, since I've been putting it of for some reason lol

I loved this book! I really want to read the rest of the series, but there's just so many books I want to read. I read this for my "Resources for Young Adults" class last year.
I'm on chapter 42 right now and it's getting really good. I mean it doesn't take this long to get good but it's getting to the nitty gritty now.

So many chapters lol but I'm guessing they are short.

Okay, thanks for letting me know

I started this yesterday and I'm loving it so far! About a third of the way through and I can't wait to see what happens next.
Well, I had no expectations going in and found myself loving it. Was full of so much adventure and I really enjoyed the way Redwine weaved the story. Looking forward to continuing on with the series. Great selection.
I so need to get to this book. I've wanted to read it since forever ago. Even more now that everyone here enjoyed it so much. Will try to get to it before the month is out!
Tracy wrote: "Oh crap Belkis. Well it won't take you long at all to read."Hahahaha I'm hoping it won't :)
Okay finished it and enjoyed it :)https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I'll probably read the next book to see where the story goes.
I really want to know the history between the commander and Logan. Seems like the evil bastard has a huge axe to grind with Logan and it seems to come from a hatred of Logan's father. And omgoodness how cruel he was with Logan's mother :( I need that evil demon killed! Not just once bit a few times! Oh what he did to Logan's mom and to poor Oliver. And then to Logan & Rachel. He needs to be dead. DIE DIE DEAD!!

OH, this is how I felt too, Belkis. I think it really has to do with Logan's dad and I have a feeling he might be the leader of the other group out there, can't remember their name and that's why he murdered his mother in that matter. He is a disgusting and vile man who needs to be chopped in tiny little pieces slowly so he knows what's coming to him.

I think the same thing Sylvia. I think Logan's father was the commander of the other group and he took him out.

I guess we'll have to read book 2 and find out LOL!
That's a good idea Sylvia but if we're reading with Belkis then we start now and she can start two weeks from now and still beat us.

Girl you will be exhausted. I am about to get my day started. Have to do all the mundane housework but at least I can listen to my books while I do it ;)

Yeah, that's something I need to think about doing, maybe getting some audio's so I have something to listen to while I'm driving around like a maniac, or cooking, or doing housework, makes a whole lot of sense. I am exhausted though, since Archer came to our bed again at 3am. He's been doing that so much and don't know how to snap him out of it since it takes so much longer to teach him a new skill. Mind you though, he didn't go back to sleep either tossing and turning and kicking … so unsettled blah

Oh Sylvia, I hope you can get rejuvenated then. Maybe he will get out of it on his own. At 3am no one is up to persuading a child to do anything. They always have more stamina than we do. maybe you will have time to rest a little today.

Hopefully he will grow out of it on his own. It all started when we had to trial him on Ritalin. Now that he's off that and trialling something else, which relaxes him more, hopefully it will kick in and keep him less inclined to wake up at 3am lol I've got no energy to try "new" things at that ungodly hour lol as for getting rest in the day, no such luck for me hun blah busy busy busy

Done! I finished Defiance today. It kept me turning pages, so, yes, I liked it. It has some interesting twists and turns in there. I agree with Belkis – I'm super curious about the history between Logan and the Commander, too. Such hatred is not normal and there has to be something big behind that. I think I'll continue with book two. :)

This is the link to the folder where we come to discuss the book as we read along…https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Basically we pick a start date then read at our own discretion but discuss as we read, trying not to spoil it too much for those who have yet to read that part. Usually we try to read together give or take a few chapters here or there but if there is a big twist or change to the story, we wait till everyone has read that part before discussing it or hiding it under a spoiler banner which you find on the top right hand corner of this comment box under some html is ok.
