Awesome Tanya!
Ok I just started reading ’Cujo’ and spoiler alert. If you haven’t read ‘the dead zone’ it kind of gives some of it away. If that bothers you. But, really I feel like Stephen Kings books are so much a part of popular culture that you might already know a lot of the plots from the movies. Is there a Cujo movie??

Started reading it too, I read it a few times in my teens and have seen the movie sometime in the past decade (novel was way better, of course). Maybe my adult brain will pick up some of the nuance that my teenage brain probably passed up on.
When does it get exciting?? I am reading this for the first time and I am thoroughly disappointed by how boring it is.
Im on chapter 10 and can’t help but feel a little bit disappointed I was expecting something much more creepy. I don’t hate it just I think my expectations were very different. But I’m still gonna finish the book.
I’m almost a third of the way through and I feel like Elze and I am a little bored with it. It jumps around a lot. Maybe to establish the characters? I just don’t understand all the Sharp cereal stuff. I read somewhere that Stephen King was really messed up with drugs and alcohol when he wrote this book. Maybe that explains the jumping around parts? I hope it gets better.
I think I’m enjoying this 😁 I’m certainly not finding it boring but I did find it to take a while to get into
I finally finished. The book got so much better as it went on. I wanted to help save the characters in the book by telling them to not go where the dog was hiding or at. LOL I know I really like a book or movie if I am talking or yelling at it. lol It wasn't as scary as I thought it would be, though. I heard it was a scary read when I was younger. Just very sad to me towards the end. I like how Stephen King would describe how Cujo might have been thinking as he got sicker. I liked the book overall.
I just fished today. I wasn’t into it for the first half it was too much drama for my liking; but the second half does make up for it and I cried near the end. It was a bit dramatic, scary and sad but I can say it’s a good read.
Finished it today (finally) and I can’t understand why the adults didn’t think anything strange about Tad’s closet swinging open. Near the end Vic had a chair in front of the door and the closet opened, pushing the chair, I’d be like “wt actual f” ahaha.I wondered if there were actually any supernatural causations at play or was it only symbolic of the monsters we have in our own closets because the emotions of the adults were front and centre in this novel. The only person who seemed to see the ghosts were the kids who psychically knew when their parents were having marital problems.
I had the ebook from the library and didn’t get to finish it on the first go. I finished it now. I agree is is slow to get going and very sad. I did like how he said that Cujo always was a good dog, but this was beyond his control.
I hated it the most that little Tad died.
I feel let down by King on this on. Its not horror, just life sucking.

I keep meaning to post her about the book. I thought it was a good book but like Stephanie I kind of hate that he had to die. Why??? It’s so sad 😞

Not sure it got out to everyone (sorry about that..still new at this.) But, we are late so we are running with it. (I will try to do better in future!)
Cujo by Stephen King is the book for October 2022.
I will lead the discussion since we are late.
Happy Reading!
