SE is really hitting the ground running. The pace is really picking up in MOI (Alex, you should be glad for this). It also felt really good to be back in the company of the GOTM characters.

Ok, the Crippled God is downright SCARY! If I didn't know that Kalam contacted Quick Ben later in DG, I would have been really worried. And speaking of Quick Ben, he continues to be an enigma - possesses more than 7 warrens!! Goodness, what is he??

I'm also really intrigued with Captain Paran's 'affliction'. Poor guy..

Looking forward to the parley between Brood and Dujek.. so on to the next chapter!

Thank you TS, I certainly did enjoy the chapter. The Bridgeburners feel like old friends and I have missed reading of their antics. I do not remember the female members from GotM, but they are written in such a way where there is no doubt they are 100% Bridgeburners. Erikson's dark humor produced some laugh out loud lines that I throughly enjoyed.

I also find Paran's condition intriguing. I wonder if he is becoming a Hound of Shadow?

As TS noted, The Crippled God is a powerful being and sadly poor Munug lost the use of his lower extremities as a trade for healing. I would expect any character who approaches The Crippled God for a favor to lose something of value in return. The words spoken over Munug "By your hand, a new game has begun. By your hand, the world shall tremble" is quite the prophecy. Munug has accomplished two tasks in this chapter (selling Picker the thing around her arm, and making the delivery to The Crippled God) and I expect one or both to have major ramifications on this novel (and maybe the series).

Very excited by the start and looking forward to getting deeper into the book now that I have more free time.
