The demonstration of Kruppe's power was both frighteningly awesome (the effects of Brood's hammer) and funny (Kruppe brushing dust from his clothes in an island of his own). I think only a scene with Kruppe can deliver such a juxtaposition, enough to make Whiskeyjack struggling to hold back his laughter.
Kruppe's conversation with the 2 marines has to be counted as one of the priceless moments amidst all the darkness. Remarkable feat/feet had me hooting in laughter. As well as this parting remark later "Would that Brood's hammer connected with that oily pate".. "It'd likely slip". Ahh, the Eel of Darujhistan indeed!
I know that the Mhybe's tale is far from over but it is so painful reading about her. The way she treated Korlat who was so kind and patient with her grated on my nerves. The succeeding scene between Korlat and Whiskeyjack, however, tugged at the heartstrings. I've never been particularly fond of the romance plotlines in a lot of fantasy novels, but this was beautifully done by Erikson.

And I have to say the feat/feet thing was brilliant and made me laugh out loud which is the first time in this book and series so far. I like the humour that Kruppe's scenes always bring!
I also agree about the Mhybe. She's a strange one and obviously integral to the plot, but I just don't love reading about her so much and I find her rather irritating.

TS hit the nail on the head with love for Whiskyjack and Korlat. Their relationship has developed wonderfully in a short amount of time.
Kruppe avoiding Brood's hammer was amazing, and done in such a way that would further anger Brood. Brood's anger is scary, one shot of his hammer raised mountains!! I wonder what one shot of his hammer would do if it struck his opponent.
