Sarah Reads ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ (procrasprincess) | 6 comments I used to have the audible subscription but didn’t really like the price point and the fact that can only read 1 book a month essentially. I was wondering if there’s any good audiobook resource that lets you read multiple books a month with a good amount of selections and won’t break the bank?

Ron Shaw | 771 comments I posted this before in another area of the forum but you can try soundbooththeater.com They are a collection of voice-actors and authors. Most of their work is on Audible.com but some of it they keep exclusively for their own website and audiobook player app. Some is free, some is purchasable and the prices per book rarely go into the double digits. They also have their own Facebook group and discord server where they often post Youtube events and let people view "cold reads" of current projects respectively. I hope you find them to your liking.

The library is the best free resource. Usually through Libby or Hoopla.

For inexpensive audiobooks that then belong to you, Chirp Books is a really good resource. I only buy books that are on sale there, but I can usually get them for less than $5, and like I said, they then belong to you forever.

Kris Chirp & local libraries are a really good sources for free & inexpensive books! I use both in tandem, if there’s a audiobook you’d like to read that’s expensive that your local library doesn’t have - you can always request books as well. I’ve had a lot of success, chatting with my local librarians and requesting books that I would normally be unable to afford.

I’ve also had a lot of luck buying audiobooks directly from the authors themselves for reasonable prices. Bypassing audible, and getting audiobooks directly from the authors website has saved a lot of money. Hope that helps!

Robin P | 1855 comments Scribd used to advertise all you can read for a monthly fee, but after 1 or 2 books they would only offer you less popular books for the rest of the month.
