I HAVE RETURNED. I am Lenadi, and I fully believe that the moon landing was a fake. Here's why:

1) the shadows in the pictures aren't parallel. The sun was the only light source on the moon, and so the shadows of the men should have been parallel, and they weren't so clearly it was created in a studio.
2) Apollo astronauts couldn't have survived Earth's radiation field. We know radiation can (and has) killed people, and Earth has an intense radiation field. Therefore... The astronauts would have died and that wouldn't have been good.
3) THERE WEREN'T ANY STARS IN ANY OF THE PICTURES!!! What the heck??? THEY'RE IN SPACE!!!! THERE SHOULD BE STARS!!!
4) The US flag is waving in the wind - but there isn't any wind in space...
5) If we really went to the moon in 1969, we should have been back. Clearly, we don't actually have the technology to get there, and it was just a fake to keep the Russians off our tale.

Wow I saw the title of this thread and I was like "....Why is this even a thing???" I've never questioned that the moon landing happened, but I've never actually looked into it.

OKAY!! I have actually looked this up! *feels proud because I never bother to research anything really XD*

Alas, Lenadi, I shall have to debunk your view:

1. The shadows in the picture aren't parallel - Non-parallel shadows can come from a single light source simply because of perspective, and the uneven surface of the moon.
2. Apollo astronauts could not have survived Earth's radiation field - The time the astronauts spent going traveling through that radiation was incredibly short, and so they wouldn't have been exposed long enough for any damage.
3. There were no stars in the pictures - The astronauts and the lunar landscape were brightly lit by the sun, and to take a photo of a brightly lit scene, your camera's shutter speed needs to be fast and your aperture incredibly small. In that situation, faint objects like stars simply aren't going to show up.
4. The US flag is waving in the wind - Actually, it's not. There was a telescopic pole extended along the top so that the flag wouldn't just droop. The wrinkles from storage along the journey also make it look like it's fluttering, but they are just wrinkles.
5. We should have been back there by now - Priorities changed. They managed to land on the moon, so focuses were directed elsewhere to projects like the Space Shuttle program and the International Space Station.

I don’t even think anyone has really gone off into space. All the videos I have seen with people in space, it’s obvious they are on a harness.
The horizon of the moon.. if the moon is as big as said. The horizon would be soo far away, the land isn’t flat and smooth. It must have large craters and high hills maybe.
By the way, does the sun really light up the moon that much? The lighting looks odd.
The videos of them landing on the moon, the blast from the engine, wouldn’t it create some sort of print.

So a while back I caught a movie that was from the 70s or 80s, called "Capricorn One". The plot revolved around a faked moon or Mars landing - what I remember is that a planned space voyage with 3 astronauts had to be scrubbed at the last minute, so in order to save face and funding, the government space program had the astronauts fake a landing on a sound stage with video of a real rocket going into space and then returning, leading the world to think there was an actual space trip. Problem is, the rocket blows up on return so what to do with the astronauts? Of course the technology is 70s or 80s, but it was a pretty decent thriller.

I have to side with the it was faked side. if you look closely at history, you can see a pattern of the government distracting the people from something major. What was going on at that time? The Cold War. They wanted to distract people from it, so, boom, a moon landing. And, being the daughter of a photographer and going into that field myself, I know that the stars would've shown up, or they would've at least taken pictures of them. Why put so much emphasis on how pretty the stars are and not take any pictures of them? And, yes, why haven't we gone back? They talk about it all the time and they've never done it. Seems suspicious to me.
