The Rapture of the Nerds, by Cory Doctorow. This is a sci-fi thriller, in which a person named Huw emerges from a party with a mark on his forehead that if real says he is contaminated and infectious, and the events that follow make him the one person who might be able to save the whole human species.
I think The School for Good and Evil by Soman Chainani qualifies for adventure. The two main characters are taken to the opposite school that they should be in. They try to get back home but are met with many obstacles and are in danger from others.
I think Poseidon's Trident by A.P. Mobley fits...it's a YA series based on Greek mythology and the MCs are on an adventure to collect 3 of the most powerful items so they can go to war against the Greek gods. A.P. also packs a lot of action in the books with the MCs battling various monsters, creatures, and demigods along the way.

Thrillers are often a ramped up variation on the action/adventure novel, and basic survival may be the goal, rather than defeating a bad guy while surviving oneself. Throw in enough blood and guts and scary scenes and it may also become horror, though many horror novels are the gross cousin of fantasy novels too.
If there is a better genre for your book (fantasy, sci-fi, etc.), put your book there, but there are a lot of action/adventure books that do not really belong in other genres.
