In the prologue, we learn something about how Evan came to be with Jack Johns. Was it clear to you what circumstances Evan was leaving and why he chose to go into the unknown with Jack?

I never got a good handle on what Evan’s home life was like, only that it must have been bad. I wanted more because he took a big risk in choosing Jack.

I did not understand Evan's life before only found out later in the book that it was a group home. I would have liked for the story to tell us how he got there.
