message 2: by Kelly (new)

Kelly Green Hicks (kelly's bookish world) I am going to read Live Wire: Long-Winded Short Stories by Kelly Ripa.

message 3: by Christina (new)

Christina I am reading “Hello, Molly!” By Molly Shannon. I’m hoping for some good laughs as she was great on SNL. 😃

message 4: by Sheri (new)

Sheri Howard I selected the memoir that had been on my TBR list the longest: "The Boy on the Wooden Box" by Leon Leyson who was 10-years old when the Nazis invaded his country. Given the horror of the Holocaust, I may need to read Kelly's and Christina's selections as well for some balance as I find Kelly Ripa and Molly Shannon to both be very funny woman.

message 5: by Rebekah (new)

Rebekah Gernhard (bekahgern) I'm listening to I Take My Coffee Black by Tyler Merritt.

message 6: by Christina (new)

Christina Just finished the Molly Shannon book. Was fun to read because found out she’s from my mom’s hometown of Cleveland, Ohio. So when she mentioned different Cleveland places I got to ask my mom if she knew them.

Kelly Green Hicks (kelly's bookish world) I hope that it is hilarious!

Kelly Green Hicks (kelly's bookish world) It does sound like you may need to reading something more uplifting along with it. I'm glad that you are able to work on your TBR.

Christina Definitely didn’t know all her background and what a rough bringing up she had. Made me kinda like her more.

John Willis I'm reading Recollection of My Nonexistence by Rebecca Solnit.

message 14: by Sara (new)

Sara Kreps I'm reading star trek memories by William shatner. I read/listened to star trek movie memories years ago and remember it being quite funny.

message 15: by Katherine (new)

Katherine (katscribefever) I've been listening to In Love: A Memoir of Love and Loss. It's very good and like a real-life Me Before You.

message 20: by Brynn (new)

Brynn I’m a little behind but chose Tuesdays with Morrie.

message 21: by John (new)

John Willis Kelly, I really enjoyed Solnit's memoir. It was a little different than most memoirs. If you have read any of her long form essays it was similar in style to those. I would definitely recommend it.

message 24: by Sara (new)

Sara Kreps I'm not sure that star trek memories really counted as a memoir even though it had been labeled as such. it was more a biography of the show than a memoir of the author. also lacked most of the humor of movie memories. disappointing.

Brooke Marsh What did you think of Tyler's audiobook. I loved it! I commented on something on his fb page and he answered me!
