I'm reading my way through a century of Scandinavian fiction and this was one of my choices. I look forward to it.
I voted for the book because I can read it as an e-book and it can read this classic in German. To put it mildly, I don't dare to read a classic in English. I just don't have the feeling for language and I've already noticed with Nordic Fauna that it's hard for me to read in a foreign language.

This is the good thing about the classics: they are almost all available in different translations so one does not necessarily have to read them in English, and with Gösta Berling's Saga it should be widely available so no excuse for any member of this group there ... :)

Just started out with Gösta Berling's Saga - feels like a literary cosy read. Looking forward to diving in for real aswell as hearing other peoples impressions! I voted for it since I relish Selma Lagerlöfs language and storytelling skills.
Finished Gösta Berling's Saga. Especially appreciated her sentence-level lyrical inventiveness, a bubbling brook of language.
