The only one of these I've read is Good Girl's Guide to Murder which I really liked. Looking forward to seeing what you think of some of these other ones.

So happy I found this group! I have trouble finding reading challenges that I can participate in easily, while reading the massive amount of books I already own 😅. For January, I have picked Elysium Girls, by Kate Pentecosthttps://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...
This is a great book challenge, I have tons of books to read so looking at the keywords, I have several I could read.Small Town Girl-LaVyrle Spencer; Shadow on the Crown; Whispers; The Black Donnellys; HeartWishes; All the Way; Evergreen

Heart stopper by Alice Oseman
The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
All the Light we Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

I’m trying to do something new this year when it comes to picking what I read, so I’m so happy I came across your group! My January pick is All the Dangerous Things by Stacy Willingham. Happy reading! ❤️
Black Cake and Under the Whispering Door are great options for this month! They were in my top 10 for 2022. For this challenge, I'll be reading All the Dangerous Things by Stacy Willingham (I absolutely loved A Flicker in the Dark!) and Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly.
Just found you on IG and am so excited to join in the challenge! I’m thinking All The Missing Girls for January!
Just finished a re-read of The Bone Witch by Rin Chupeco and planning on reading The Heart Forger for my January selection! 2023 goal: Complete my TBR list of books that I have "laying around" and already own.
First ever reading challenge, looks so fun! Mine will be
1. "In the heart of Strandzha"
2. "The blacktongue thief"
Everyone has picked such great books! I'm looking forward to seeing what worked for you all and what didn't at the end of the month.
I am so excited, as this will be my very first reading challenge. Looking forward to a fun way to weed through my huge TBR list. I am starting off with Tea With The Black Dragon, and plan to do more from there.
I just found y’all on Pinterest. I normally set a goal for myself for the number of books that I will read for the year but this will be the first time that I am setting a challenge like this. For January I am considering the following A. The girl I was by Jeneva Rose
B. The words we whisper by Mary Ellen Taylor
C. Black dove, white raven by Elizabeth Wein
D. Jar of Hearts by Jennifer Hillier
E. A Cuban girl’s guide to tea and tomorrow by Laura Taylor Namey
Josh and Hazel’s guide to not dating by Christina Lauren
F. More than you”lol ever know by Katie Gutierrez
I started A Goose Girl by KM Shea. The series was recommended from an author I follow to get a new glimpse/twist on some classic fairy tales.
I’m joining this challenge for the first time for this year! I intend to read 1 fiction, 1 nonfiction, and 1 children’s/YA for each month. For January, these are my planned books:Whisper Hollow by Chris Cander
The Sewing Girl's Tale by John Wood Sweet
A Field Guide to Mermaids by Emily B Martin
Hey all! This is my first year doing any kind of reading challenge and I can't wait to get started. I plan on documenting all of my progress on my Instagram. I've thought about starting one just for books, but I think I'm going to wait awhile and just use my personal page (telafaye93) for now since I'm still new to this. I've been an avid reader my entire life but kind of fell off the train after having my daughter 4 years ago. Back in June I bought a new kindle, and it got me back into reading. My plan for January is to read:
The Storm Girl by Kathleen McGurl
The Flight Girls by Noelle Salazar
These are a couple that I have had on my Kindle for awhile now but I'm looking forward to marking them my #TBR list.
I am either going to use The Girl in the White Van (reading for monthly motif) or will read Girl in Pieces.
This is my first time doing this challenge. I plan to start with The Girl Who Drank the Moon by Kelly Barnhill. It's been on my TBR list for a while.
I’m going to read All The Ever Afters by Danielle Telle and It Takes Heart by Tif Marcelo. I’ve had both for a while and even won It Takes Heart from a Goodreads giveaway. I’m excited!!
Once I finish reading Upton Sinclair’s The Jungle, I’ll be starting the January challenge with The Next Girl by Carla Kovach
I have finished The Storm Girl by Kathleen McGurl and The Last Thing She Ever Did by Greg Olsen. Both were AMAZING! I couldn't put them down. I've been using Bookly to track my progress and how long it takes me to read each book. I'm loving it so far. I'm still waiting for my Book Journal to get here that I ordered from Amazon. Can't wait.
Well I was immediately hooked and couldn’t stop reading my first January pick : Whispers and the Roars by K Webster I plan to read these as well:
The 9th Girl by Tammi Hoag
Broken Crown by Sabrina Lozier
The Girls by Emma Cline
Black and Blue by Anna Quindlen
The key to my heart by Lia Louis
I was looking for something new to be motivated to read. I have two young kids, and I love the idea of finding titles based on key words. Sometimes it can be overwhelming when scrolling for a new read. I can’t wait to get started!I’m going to read All Good People Here by Ashley Flowers.
Finished my first challenge book! Elysium Girls, by Kate Pentecost
My review: 4 stars
Ok, so I REALLY liked the premise of the storyline, and the basic magic system within this “real world” (I use the term loosely, since the book takes place within a portion that has been cut off for the rest of the world, and changed) setting. However, I can’t help feeling like the possibility of an entire epic fantasy series has been smashed together into a single book. SO many details and occurrences that could have been expanded upon, and drawn out. Characters that could have had heir own unique arcs within the broader storyline. This could have been a 5 star rating….but instead was kind of like a built up sneeze that just vanishes instead.
Now I’m off to find something on my shelves that fits with the *motif* for January
I am starting A Cuban girl’s guide to Tea and Tomorrow by Laura Taylor Namey for this month's challenge.
Just finished “ALL the Ugly and Wonderful Things “ by Bryn Greenwood which was a roller coaster of emotions , at times I had to put it down , it was just too much , but most of the time I just couldn’t put it down . Thank goodness for kitchen timers or i would have burned dinner . It was that absorbing .
