wow, that is a lot of heartbreak

I'm sad for Luke, that he thinks he has to apologize all the way back to his junior year in high school! I can't imagine, as a mom, holding stuff like that over my children. They don't disappoint me, their life is their own. I just want to help them find happiness.

The story of Freddie and her husband and child is very sad as well.

I like Ginger, although I'm sad she's in such a tough spot. Not terribly happy in her current life but not sure how to change it. (hide spoiler)]

ooof, this is a sad book

I'm glad he told her about the grandbaby and that his wife forgave him and is trying to make it work. ugh, that's tough

and poor Freddie, her tears at that table and at that dinner. ugh.

and I'm glad she went through with the wedding

for such a small town, there is a lot of current and previous death, a lot of staring mortality in the face (hide spoiler)]

that was a rough set but I can see how it might start lightening up

I'm so sad for Hannah and I'm glad she got to talk to her mom and get some little things from the apartmet but I'm sad they weren't closer

I love that Mrs. Crowley is helping - did she take the cat?! lol

and I'm glad that they have Addie and Iris and that they are helping Kay and hubby

but this is still so sad (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ wow!! I'm so all the chemo and radiation worked! I wasn't so sure he'd live. I love that he got to go with his wife and chase her dream (and with Addie!)

Luke's story was still so sad but I was glad to see Ginger find love and his mom find. . .a peace, maybe. I love that she was cleaning out spaces and finding little pieces to keep her going

Poor Iris. I was glad she still had her dad and Kay to fall back on and that she thought of Benny. I love that she saw him in a dream!

So glad this concluded with some hope. I don't know if I could have handled more sadness. (hide spoiler)]
