Aelin has this problem when no matter how big the bad guy is she just happens to find a new level to her power. Very much mary-sue energy. The parts where her secret scheme to solve all their problems is revealed at the very last second reads very deus ex machina to me.
I will say the monsters in the ToG series did seriously unnerve me for years. Well done. I also loved Manon and the concept of the witches. Her series have aspects that are really cool ideas and resonate with readers. That's why they're so popular, but there is a lot to be desired.
Definitely Colleen Hoover. I know I’m not unique in my opinion, but it’s because it’s kind of crazy how popular her books are.
Im from poland so there’s this author called Weronika Malczak. She wrote a series on wattpad called “Rodzina Monet” (“Monet Family”) and now all the 10-14 year olds in Poland are reading it. It’s really toxic, full of things that aren’t for children and gives them bad idea of how the world should look. Oh and also justifies verbal assault and abuse as a form of “being just anxious about someone”.
shannon messenger- kotlc is absolutely terrible (pls dont take personally this is jut my opinions :D)
Colleen Hoover, Ali Hazelwood CoHo’s books are alright and I know she’s rlly controversial so
Hazelwood’s are good, but way to overhyped
I think both these authors just copy their own books to much
colleen hoover fs, she does the same thing over and over again and he fans will call it one of a kind and outstanding. idm her books but she’s overhyped
