Skyler led the way into her tidy dorm room, opening the door wide enough to let Catie in as well. Once both were safely inside, Skyler shut the door and pointed to a door on the opposite side of the room. "There's the bathroom, i-if you wanted to wash your hands." She suggested, partly because she didn't want the girl to touch anything with that grim on her hands, and partly because she had read the girls mind.

Not waiting for Catie to cross the room Skyler walked slowly to her dresser in search for the perfect journal. Truly every piece of furniture in here was hers, since she shared it with no one, and hadn't since she first arrived her freshman year, which- was no doubt a good thing. But, out of respect for a future occupant, Sky never put anything of hers on their "half". Skyler wondered occasionally what it would be like with a roommate- but every time she did she figured that it would just become a loud, messy hassle that she would have to deal with every time she entered her room. No- being by herself was the best option.

E M M A Caitlyn walked behind skyler, careful not to step on the back of the girls shoes. Her heart raced anxiously in her little chest as they walked in silence towards the dorm building, going up for a few flights to reach the older girls room. They had the same viewpoint from where their dorms were relative to the school and it's beautiful surroundings, and they both could see the same oak tree that Catie sometimes yearned to climb. Once inside, Caitlyn noticed that the room was... immaculate. No stains on the floors, the bed was made, shelves neatly organized. Not a single dirty laundry in sight! Catie didn't really know her roommate yet, except the fact that she was never around and probably older than her as well. She noticed thst the other half of the room was unoccupied by a second roommate, a brief flickering thought to consider transferring to this room lingering in her mind before it was gone. No, she wasn't going to bother skyler any further.

It was weird. Besides, she didn't want to seem clingy or something! "Hm? Oh, thank you," Catie accepted Skylers offer graciously, hrrying to flick on the sink with the back of her hands and douse her palms and fingers with soap. A beautiful thing, indoor plumbing! While Catie dried her hands, she stared at herself in the mirror. What was so wrong with her? Why did girls hate her? Why did boys never see her? What sparked that bitterness directed at her from Amy and her cronies? Caitlyn sighed softly, exiting the bathroom and closing the door with a click behind her. She gave skyler a weak smile while she rifled through some journals busily.

It was rather hard not to hear all of the thoughts spouting out from inside the bathroom where Catie was washing up. The poor girl had so many worries and questions racing through her mind Skyler wondered how she could focus on anything in particular. Skyler did remember that not too long ago, she herself asked basically all of these same questions. Why didn't she have any friends? Why did her parents hate her? What was wrong with her? So, in a way, it was nice to know that Skyler wasn't the only one who felt so insecure.

As Caitlyn came out of the bathroom, Skyler turned around just enough to see the soft smile on her face, return it, and resume looking. Finally she found it. The one journal that placed itself in her mind since the moment she found out Catie needed a one. Skyler reached into the depths of her drawer and pulled it out, blowing on it to remove the dust which had piled up on it. Skyler held the journal gingerly in her hands, tracing the floral pattern with her finger briefly before turning to hand it to Catie. "Found it." she said with a shy grin. Please like it... please like it... she thought nervously to herself.

E M M A Caitlyn waited patiently as skyler searched for the journal, her back to the girl. She observed the bedroom tenatively, as if she'd be yelled at for invading the girls privacy. It was very plausinle, and for someone who had spent a majority of her life being insulted and spat curses at, she wasn't going to be surprised when skyler turned on her some how. It was inevitable. She heard the girls voice behind her, turning herself around promptly and offering a soft smile. The journal the girl had selected was beautiful, better than the plain black little notebooks she kept every year. The flowers were in any way representing her new year of change, being at this boarding school with a whole different perspective at her own future. Delighted, Caitlyns brown eyes lit up with her lips twitching into a bigger smile. "Its... it's beautiful, skyler... are you sure I can have this?" Caitlyn breathed, hesitating to even touch it's surface. Besides the dust that had gathered on its cover, the journal was seemingly brand new, no writing inside. Catie took the journal from Skylers outstretched hands, hunched over the pages. She flipped through the endless striped lines page after page, waiting for her to tell her story. It was jsut the thing, perfect! "Thank you so much, honest... y-you don't know how important th-this is to me...!" Catie whispered, still skeptical that this wasn't all some prank. Her cheeks were pink with embarassment, gushing over a journal.

Skyler let out a quiet, but good natured, laugh. "Of course you can, I already have a bunch." She replied with a gesture to the drawer stacked with dusty journals. Skyler could still sense the uneasiness about Catie, but it was a bit less that it had been when the two first met. As Catie flipped through the pages of the unused journal Sky smiled wider than she had... ever. "I have a feeling I do." she said honestly. Of course she knew how important a journal was to someone- even without reading their mind. Journals were the number one way to express oneself, and there was absolutly no judgment.
