Zac appeared here and was immediately confronted by at least 5 dwarves who started questioning him. “Im here because of Robyn! Is there anyone I can talk to, please?”
The dwarves stopped and let a bloated man walk through. "You know Snowfall?"
“If that’s what you call Robyn, yes!!” He sounded a bit stressed
"What is it now? Did something happen?" he asked.
“Yes! She’s probably getting tortured as we speak!”
It was clearly hearable in his voice that he was a thread away from sobbing
The man pursed his lips. "We need to send someone to help. Do you know where she is?"
He frowned. "Can you clarify?"
"Just try," he said, giving the boy a small smile. "You're all she has right now."
That… did not help him feel better… he shrunk more. “Erm… I think this crystal might lead to the hideout she’s at… or a trap… or a different hideout…” his voice was smaller too
The man thanked him. "How do you feel about going to rescue her with one of our operatives?"
He laughed. "I trust you for some reason. I'll send Flash."
"Flash is our Charger," he said. "She'll make sure things go good."
He turned to him. "It's better to try and fail than to not try at all."
“If she ends up dying because of it though? If they punish her worse? If they catch me and… Flash? That would mean three people are tortured instead of one! I’m not ready for this! I can’t! I’m just a normal conjuror using my ability for making cookies appear.”
He laughed. "Your power is greater than you realize. But you can just take a melder and quietly stun everyone in your way."
“No- I can’t… I can’t. I’ve already messed up enough. We’re just waisting time when you could be choosing someone better. I’m not even in the black swan.”
"This is your chance to fix it. Right now, Robyn is slowly dying and you can save her. Besides, we need two people and Flash is the only one willing to go right now. Please," the man said.
“No! I can’t! I don’t want to hesitate in front of my brother or something!”
He grabbed Zac's shoulders. "That's why we have Flash. Please."
The man sighed. "You kids get on my nerves." Then he took Zac's leaping crystal. "If you want to put a person who's way too old for this on the job, then fine." He looked Zac straight in the eye. "If we get captured, you will blame yourself. I'm trying to spare you."
"I'll be right back." He left for a moment, then returned with a woman who's face was blurred with crackling lines of electricity. "You sure?" the man asked for the final time.
He sighed. "Please. I'm sure this is what Robyn would want."
“It’s not. She probably hates me, and with reason.”
The man shook his head. "I know Robyn. She wouldn't hate you. And even if she did, this would make up for it."
“Well, you don’t know what I did either so don’t go making assumptions.”
"What did you do?" a voice said from the corner, sounding crackly like lightning. Flash.
“It’s a long story that we don’t have time for because you need to go now!”
Flash rolled her eyes. "I don't like this kid very much." The man sighed. "Okay, and if you hear someone say 'swan song' inside your head, we have been captured." He held the crystal up to the light and they disappeared.
