I just wanted to pop by and say that I just read A Gentleman in Moscow which was really good and though I can't use it for the challenge, it fits a number of prompts and I highly recommend!
It is set in Russia,

MC is a bachelor,

a book where someone is protecting someone else,
set in a city that starts with M,
a letter has a significant role,

Thanks for your post, Katrisa. I think I left all of these tasks open on my first pass list and you give me a PERFECT book title to fill them. It is one I definitely want to read too!
