Gerard's 2023 Bingo Challenge

This year has consisted of nothing but good to excellent reads for me so far. What I found works best for me is to not plan; I rarely ever stick to reading goals that I write down in advance.
I would like to attempt the blackout challenge and read more women writers this year. If anyone has any suggestions for O3: Classics of Asia, N5: Classic of Africa or Oceania, G2: Action or Adventure, or G4: Fantasy or Science Fiction, I would appreciate it!

Classics of Asia: The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck
Classic of Africa: Cry, the Beloved Country by Alan Paton
Action/Adventure: King Solomon's Mines (or another by H. Rider Haggard)
Science Fiction: The Illustrated Man or The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury
These are all ones I've enjoyed in those categories.
Congratulations on your first Bingo and best of luck on your Black Out! :)

Thank you, Terris!

Classics of Asia: Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto
Classic of Africa or Oceania: Season of Migration to the North by Tayeb Salih
Action or Adventure: Watership Down by Richard Adams
Fantasy or Science Fiction: I'm going to put in a second vote for The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury
Happy Reading!

For a classic of Africa by a female author, these are some possibilities: Joys of Motherhood, The (2nd Edition), So Long a Letter (it's lovely and short), Neighbours: The Story of a Murder (also short), The Map of Love, Circles in a Forest, Women At Point Zero, Children of the New World, The Blind Kingdom (can also work for fantasy as it is speculative fiction), When Rain Clouds Gather (again short).
