I can't believe I'm typing this right now but welcome to the last round of the TBR Game 2022! When the idea to play this game with you guys rather than by myself first came to me I was sure I wouldn't have any takers- and I was prepared to be ok with that- but instead several of you have showed up each month to take part alongside me and have helped to keep me accountable (even if I rarely won a round haha). So thank you all so much for elevating the experience for me by playing along for the last year! The game will be returning in 2023 but it'll be different (gotta keep things interesting).. don't worry, though- it'll be just as fun!

without further ado I hope you'll join me one more time in 2022 for a round of the so uniquely-named TBR Game:

The Prompts

Turn #1
Card: Read something between 350-370 pages while listening to music.
Roll: Freebie!

explanation: I wholly plan on turning on some Christmas tunes low in the background while I read one of the Christmas romances I've got on deck this year but you do you.. if you want to read horror while listening to death metal that works too 🤘🏼If you cant listen to music the entire time thats completely fine- just make sure you've got the tunes on for a portion of the book!

Turn #2
Card: Use a random letter generator and find a title that starts with that letter.
Roll: Read a paperback/ARC

explanation: The first time I rolled I landed on one of my more personal prompts which is to read an ARC- I rerolled for you guys and landed on paperback. But I'll leave it up to you which one you choose to go with. You can find a random letter generator by googling it. Keep generating if you get a letter that you dont have a book with a title to match. I'll also allow you to skip The- so if get the letter B you can count it to read The Book Thief (for example) similarly, if you get a T feel free to apply it to any titles you've got beginning with The.

Turn #3
Card: Read a pink book.
Roll: Read a contemporary.

Turn #4
Card:Read a book that was gifted to you.
Roll: Read a hardcover.

explanation: You can use gift pretty loosely here- if you received an ARC or gifted yourself a book at some point you can count that- just try to stay in the spirit of gifting. Obviously, every time you buy a book it could be considered gifting and if you don't have anything else that will certainly work, but if you did gift yourself for a specific occasion go with that instead.

Turn #5
Card: Read any book you want but be sure to have tea/coffee/cocoa/etc. while reading!
Roll: Odd page #

explanation: you can drink anything you want- or make it a snack if you prefer, just make sure the book you choose has an odd page number- and as always as long as an edition of the book you want to read exists that has an odd pg # you can count it even if your specific edition does not.

Turn #6 (replacement prompt)
Card: read a book you keep seeing everywhere.
Roll: ebook/audiobook.

thats all the prompts- im sure you all know the rules by now but just a reminder that you can use the replacement prompt in place of one of the others if you dont like it as much or cant find a book to fit. Doubling up is allowed and encouraged as many times as possible. and most importantly NO punishments- mainly because Ive gotten rid of that rule but also because we won't be dragging any baggage into the new year with us as far as the game is concerned and its the season of forgiveness!

Merry Reading 📖, I hope you have a lovely holiday 🎄 season wherever you are, and I look forward to seeing you in the new year 🎆 xoxo 💋
