Luckily, I did find one. Also, Holmes found a rival: Hercule Poirot.
The main difference between the two is that Holmes uses more scientific methods than Poirot, who uses human psychology in his methods. The writing style is also different, but I’ll stop comparing the two detectives now.
I like how the book was set into three parts: The Facts, The Evidence, and Hercule Poirot Sits Back and Thinks. To me, the division made the book more intriguing. It was a 100% page-turner, and the plot didn’t keep me waiting for long. Although there were many French phrases in every page, the main draw-back was the resolution. Poirot just said that he’s done with the case, and then the whole story was over. It would’ve been better if the story had more details about what happened after the case was closed. The criticism I give didn’t bother me, though.
It is now my wish to read all of Christie’s books (only the detective ones). Of course, this book is receiving a rating of 5/5 from me.
