Ok ok but imagine this - six crimson cranes as a Ghibli adaptation

That would be incredible! SCC is Chinese mythology but Ghibli do take inspiration from all over the world so I can see that.

Does anyone else think The Left-Handed Booksellers of London would make a good Ghibli film? The main character doesn't give Ghibli energy tbh but the setting and side characters really reminded me of some of their films

i second ‘six crimson cranes’! I also think ‘daughter of the moon goddess’ and ‘the girl who fell beneath the sea’ would work so well!

I only read the synopsis but wow does it give chaotic Ghibli energy

Daughter Of The Moon Goddess would have to be condensed a LOT. That movie has too much plot for a single ghibli movie but in Princess Kaguya animation it would be GORGEOUS

I'm so glad you mentioned Princess Kaguya! I remembered watching it as a kid, but I had forgotten what it was called in recent years, which was disappointing because it was a beautiful film and story. Thanks 😄

ah princess kaguya is one of the ones on my ‘to watch’ list. im slowly making my through past ghibli films :)
