The Worst Witch discussion

I loved the Worst Witch story as a girl I read it till the book literally fell apart.

The worst witch story is about a witch called Mildred Hubble. Mildred attended Miss Cackles academy for witches and she was the most disorganised witch in the academy. She starts off the first year with a tabby cat when all the other witches had black cats. Her cat also did not like flying who has heard of a Witches Cat who didn't like being on a broomstick.

Mildred managed to break her broom on the second day of school by flying into the yard which she fixed with sellotape this at times made her boom rather difficult to control. she also managed to bend her hat. Mildred was friends with Maud and spends her first year avoiding Miss Hardbroom the deputy headmistress who could appear out of no where and trying to stay away from Ethel. Ethel spends the entire time Mildred is at he academy trying to get Mildred into trouble. In one chapter Mildred turns Ethel into a pig it is a spell that backfired.

The story is light hearted and aimed at children in years 2-3 it would make a lovely story to read when thinking about creative writing possibly around October. Halloween would make a wonderful opportunity to encourage children to write stories about Witches and Wizards.
