Welcome back, Lauren! Looks like you are working on Series. Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson series is one I am enjoying also. I have a Will Trent book planned for a 2023 challenge but not the first.
Congrats on your accomplishment this year, Lagullande! Wow! I don't know any of your books, except The Mirror & the Light. I DNF'd that one. Not sure why, and I seldom give that designation to a book...even a bad one. It might be one I need to re-look at...maybe it was a bad time for me. Let me know what you think. You might be the impetus I need to look at it again.
Meg, your list is another with many books I do not recognize. However I see a Margaret Atwood on your list that I did not know...and I enjoyed the The Disappearing Spoon: And Other True Tales of Madness, Love, and the History of the World from the Periodic Table of the Elements.
LynnB, your first book is one I enjoyed. I hope you like it also. As with everyone else so far, lots of books I haven't heard of on your list. Some I will need to explore for myself, especially The Women with Silver Wings: The Inspiring True Story of the Women Airforce Service Pilots of World War II.

Lyn (Readinghearts), would you like to do a buddy read of A Tale of Two Cities? I have had it on my TBR a long while also.
Hehe...and the rest of your list might just have to be added to my TBR. (I have read and enjoyed His Majesty's Dragon and The Mists of Avalon, so that would leave 8 to add. LOL)
Beverly, Coralie, and Tien...I will need to come back to your lists to peruse the need to add to my TBR. I don't recognize most of your books...and my TBR needs a rest!
Everyone is added to the participant list to here.

Meg,
Reading your list makes me realize you might be the right person to ask this question of:
I've just finished Robin Hobb's The Liveship Traders series, which of course I loved, and I am excited to go on to The Rain Wild Chronicles.
But I just realized I haven't read the 2nd or 3rd books in her Tawny Man series, which are listed earlier in the list of the entire Elderlings series (here). I don't know how I missed reading them before I started The Liveship series.
Do you think I should go back to them before going on? It seems like they might be separated enough that it might not be a problem. But I don't want to miss any backstory (like all the things I knew about Elderlings from the Farseer trilogy which provided history for the Liveship trilogy, for example).
Do you have a recommendation?

Beverly, I have read The Snow Child 4* and Like Water for Chocolate 3*. Both were good. I hope you enjoy them, too.
Coralie, Tien and Susan, your lists are full of books I haven't been aware of. I'll be interested in what you like.

Done: 10/10 - COMPLETE!

1 Come Toy with Me (2009) - Finished - 3/27/23 - very typical harlequin romance, nothing to write home about, glad to get it off my pile
2 Until Proven Guilty (2010) - finished - 4/23/23 - not a bad mystery - i sort of figured it out - its just weird reading books that were written in the 80's because they are soo dated now...lol
3 Blue Smoke (2010) - Finished - 7/6/23 - while this is one of Nora's older stand alone romantic suspenses - it has held up mostly to the test of time (considering its 15+ yrs old)
4 Stray (2010) - finished - 6/24/23 - I was hesitant to start this because I did once before but kept getting distracted- but once I got past the first hour I was intrigued enough to keep going. Kind of glad that I have books 2 and 3 also on my audible pile - so i can keep listening...
5 Joker One: A Marine Platoon's Story of Courage, Leadership, and Brotherhood (2010) - finished - 7/3/23 - i can't believe that its been 20yrs since this took place -i was a rising junior in college when it was happened - profound lessons in leadership
6 City of Masks (2011) - finished - 4/15/23 - I enjoyed the whole parapsychology element and books set in New Orleans intrigue me - I may consider this series in the future
7 Between, Georgia (2011) - Finished - 5/15/23 - this is what i call good southern fiction - family dysfunction, feuds and just good storytelling. I can't believe i haven't read Jackson before - but I likely will again in the future
8 The Return of the Dancing Master (2011) - Finished - 5/21/23 - this was the first Mankell I'd read outside of his series and i enjoyed it - may have to seek out some more of his standalone books in the future
9 I'd Know You Anywhere (2011) - Finished - 5/8/23 - not a bad crime book - not really suspense/mystery because you knew the who done it (or did you...)
10 Witchling (2011) - Finished - 6/1/23 - semi decent UF, not sure if I fully want to continue - liked the mix of paranormal characters (far, witches, vampires); ending was a bit ehhh

- Anne's House of Dreams read Dec 26, 2023

Nat, I found that I already had The Lost City of the Monkey God on my TBR, but I also added The Wrath and the Dawn and The Light of the World from your list.
Dee, I never even thought of using my Audible shelf for this game. Sounds like a wonderful solution for your constant on the go lifestyle, though. I find that I cannot listen to mysteries and more in depth stories with this mode. I keep having to run the book back to catch something I missed when my attention diverted.
Luann, your list has added The Hound and the Falcon to my TBR. I have the first book of Sarah Agnes Prine already on my TBR, so did not add the one you listed. I have already read and enjoyed Into Thin Air: A Personal Account of the Mount Everest Disaster and In the Woods.
Everyone is on the participant list to here!

Wow, LynnB! You are really reading your Owned books! I am trying to read more of mine, but somehow they always get pushed to the back behind the library books with due dates.

Susan, sorry i just saw your question. I may not be much help though, it's been so long since i read the earlier books that i have forgotten most details.
From what i remember they are separate stories, although possibly the Fool character makes an appearance, so reading out of order might be an issue with their timeline.
But the rain wild connects much more with the liveship than the tawny man, so if you think you'll forget it then it's probably more important to read rain wild while you remember live ships.

Pick the 10 oldest books on your TBR. These are books that have been languishing on your To Read list for the longest. For this game, you may DNR a book and still count it if you gave it a try. I have found some gems by trying a book I did not think I wanted to read now.
