Lindsey Gandhi (lindseygandhi) | 1249 comments I was really bad about updating my reading challenge this past year. And I think a big part of that was because I had too many challenges/things to track. So for 2023 I'm trying the K.I.S.S. approach - Keep It Simple Silly! (I'm just not going to call myself stupid ever.) There will be 4 aspects to my reading chsllenge. If I can knock these off, then maybe I will go back to adding more things to track. And by keeping it simple, maybe I will do a better job at updating my challenge on here. 😁

K - Keep on Reading! My goal is to read 100 books on 2023

I - Ignore my husband's complaints and get another BOTM! My goal is to tackle the books I currently have from BOTM. This is also my 1st 12+4 list.

S - Save My Bookcase!! My goal is to save my crashing bookcase by getting as many books off of it as I can. This is also my 2nd & 3rd 12+4 lists.

S - Seriously I just need a kick in the behind. My goal is to clear out my overwhelming backlog of Netgalley books. Please don't judge, most of us on netgalley have some type of backlog and mines gotten out of control.

So there we have it. And hopefully i can clean up some of the mess my reading obsession has made. 🤣🤣
I love doing buddy reads, so if you see anything on my lists you have in your reading que, give me a shout!

Patricia | 1163 comments Great ideas! I have a stack of BOMCs to read as well. (I try to get to the mail before my husband does, but don't always succeed!)
Have fun & happy reading!

Thanks Patricia! Same here, i try to get to the mail first. But a big problem is we have the ring doorbell. So half the time our mailman will bring it to the door. Can't hide that. 🤣🤣

Martha (marthas48) | 767 comments BOTM selections are on my annual challenge list ... 5 or 6. I mostly try to read hard backs to get them off my bookcase & out of the house.. Happy reading!

Lea (leaspot) | 3708 comments I like your KISS methodology. We already talked about your first two lists, looks like we'll be reading some of the same books next year. On your Netgallery backlog list, I think I've only read Three Sisters, so I'll be eager to see what you think of the other books you have. Good luck and enjoy the books you read this year!

Great idea Lindsey! I think we are all just trying to keep up and keep it simple. Lord knows that I can get overwhelmed with my lists and ignore them completely.

Good luck on your challenges.

Lindsey Gandhi (lindseygandhi) | 1249 comments January Recap:

I read 13 books, which i think was a good start to the year.

I read 2 books from my 12+4 list #1
I read 1 book from my 12+4 list #2
I read 2 books frm my 12+4 list #3

I didn't tackle any of my backlog on netgalley. So that needs to be a focus next month.

Best books of the month:
Mean Baby A Memoir of Growing Up by Selma Blair It Starts with Us (It Ends with Us, #2) by Colleen Hoover

Worst book of the month:
Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin - I gave it 3 stars so thats not bad to be the worst....

Now off to February...
