Zia sat in the library, looking at the books on the table in front of him. He looked through a lot of books on History and even books that would be applicable to Mr. Mckinney's class. Though he was actually thinking about football, wrestling, and baseball. He spent his time studying in the library due to having nothing much to do during the day. Even though after school he was always hanging out with Iiya, Ethan, Robert, and Kendra. He even sometimes spent most of the cold days in the library due to how warm it was and how nice the library was during the cold weather.
Olivia was walking through the sections of reference books, trying to find a good thesaurus for an english project. She sighed, searching for someone to help her, but the only one she could see was a young boy at the study tables. With a grimace, Olivia decided it couldn't hurt to ask him. "Hey," she said, walking over to where he was sitting, "Um, do you know where I can find the thesauruses? I don't usually spend time here, but... Well, it's for a project and I don't really want to ask the librarian."
"Hi. The thesauruses will be on your right, towards the back of the library. Oh......By the way, What's your name? I'm Zia Jafari. It is okay if you just call me Zee. I actually don't mind the nickname. And yes I spend time here in the library, but only on the cold days like today. And if your wondering, I am on the Football Team and in the 9th grade. Have lately been trying to get a friend's brother to join football or any sport in general, but to make a long story into a short story, Collin Jennings will just not join any sports team. No matter what I say about the team or how good we are or even how good the season record is. Never could get to the bottom of the reasoning. But it's his choice and I respect if he doesn't want to join, it's fine but a little odd that he won't give a reasoning. So, what about you, what sport are you in? I would guess Cheer from the uniform." Zia said when he noticed that the girl who looked like a junior was actually talking to him.
Olivia blinked several times, quite surprised by the boy's stream of sentences. "Oh, I'm Olivia. Nice to meet you, Zee." She smiled when he said he was on the football team. "Varsity? Have you been kidnapped yet?" The ritual kidnapping was one of Olivia's favorite activities. It was always fun to plan the night, what they'd do... She listened to him talk about his friend, curious about why anyone wouldn't want to be on sports teams. "Yeah, I'm a cheerleader. I mean, obviously." She smiled, not sure how to continue. "So, um, if you wanted to use one of those thesauruses, is there one you'd recommend? Like a big one with the most words or something? I kinda need a lot of choices for this project."
"Junior Varsity actually and funny you should say that. No, but I heard that one of the best Varsity players, Harrison Greene, got kidnapped yesterday like not a ritual kidnapping but like a legit white van kidnapping. As for your project, I definitely the largest thesaurus for a project that needs a lot of choices." Zia responded. He enjoyed talking to her and would rather be talking than looking at books. He looked out the window and then back at Olivia. He smiled at her and then looked out the window again. He was not sure what to say next or even what she would say next.
"Oh, yikes." Olivia grimaced. A white van kidnapping sounded like something that might happen to a mutant, but not any normal child. Of course, it was possible that Harrison boy was a mutant... "Well, when you make Varsity I'll be happy to kidnap you." She giggled. "It's a fun time. Or at least, it usually is. My first kidnapping was a little crazy, but that was just because he was like twice my size and his parents had these strict rules about when I had to bring him back..." She nodded at his advice. "Okay, I'll go grab the biggest one then." But she didn't leave, because leaving would mean getting started on her project, and she didn't really want to do that.
"You'll have quite the fun trying to find the biggest one as there are like 20 big guys on the team, adding JV big guys and Current Varsity Big Guys. So, did you like your first time kidnapping or was it the rules you didn't like?" Zia said to Olivia. He smiled at her and waited for a reply. He looked around and then looked her back in the eyes, smiling.
Olivia's brow wrinkled as Zee started talking about the biggest guys on the team, but she burst out in laughter once she realized what he was talking about. "Sorry, I meant the biggest thesaurus. I'm not after the biggest guy... Well, um, yeah. Big guys like that aren't really my type." She pulled out the chair next to Zee and sat down. "Um, my first time was fun for the most part. I wasn't too elaborate with planning everything, so we ended up just going out to a movie and then eating ice cream at the park. What was really cool was... Okay, after the sun went down, everything went super quiet and the stars came out, and that was really fun to see." She sighed. "But then I had to bring him back before nine-thirty. If it had lasted a bit longer I think I would've enjoyed it more."
"The biggest thesaurus then, well that should be easy to find since it is the first one on the shelf. At least my parents don't have curfew rules for me. I'm not kidding, they actually don't. They did, but after that they got rid of the rules because of my brother, who is currently an 8th grader. He decided it would be fun to ask my parents to remove the rules so that he and I can stay out as long as we want, doing whatever we want that is extremely fun."
