FMS - Fahrenheit 451 discussion

At the begining of the story i didnt really underdtand why they burned books. I it took about half way to the second half of the book for them to tell us and wehn the did i tought is was a silly reason. the reason they burned book was to me to keep the community less educated and "happy".

Have you not heard the expression "ignorance is bliss"? While it truly can be bliss, would one want to live in a world of lies simply to keep them from experiencing the bad... which makes the good all that more great?
