Reading 1001 discussion

This is a strange, macabre dissection of a family struggling with incest. Everytime a child climbed on Daddy's knee I cringed. However, the story was gripping and I kept wanting to return to it, unlike To the Mountain, or Shoot the Kids, which have been simultaneous reads.

This is a comment to say I have read this in 2012. I hated it. Of course, I don't particularly remember a lot of the novel - just enough to recall how much I disliked it. MacDonald seemed to be overly wordy. I felt strongly enough that I have never read any other of her works. 1*
