As 2022 is rapidly winding down, it's time to start thinking about 2023 Group Reads. January will be filled with making resolutions we won't keep. February gives a chance to start over again. For the February Group Read, we are going to keep a reading resolution from 2022.

Books nominated for the February 2023 Group Read will be 2022 Historical Fiction releases you meant to read in 2022 but didn't get around to. All nominations need to Historical Fiction books that were newly released in 2022.

REMINDERS
NO SELF NOMINATIONS - Anyone who self nominates a book will have their nomination deleted and the poster will be removed from the group.
All nomination posts need to include title, author, and the month in 2022 the book was published
Books in a series must be read in order. Book #5 cannot be nominated if the group has not previously read books 1-4.
All of the nomination rules and how the process works can be found here - https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE double, triple check the read bookshelf. We've ready nearly 200 books together. It's hard for the moderators to keep track of everything without help. https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...

Ashley Marie | 670 comments Ooooh it looks like Mademoiselle Revolution by Zoe Sivak will work, so I'm nominating it - one of the books I wanted to read so badly and never had time for! Published in August 2022.

I'm gonna nominate A Dangerous Business by Jane Smiley - It came up for me recently in a NPR list of non-traditional mysteries (or something like that - I can't think of the exact wording), and it looked interesting.

Published Dec 6, 2022

Changing my mind! I'm now nominating The Half Life of Valery K by Natasha Pulley.
Published June 23, 2022

Crap - Sorry Gretchen! I just changed my nomination because I thought it was safe with no seconds yet.

Do you mind if I change it, or I can leave it as is if you were really into it. LOL

message 16: by Abigail (last edited Dec 14, 2022 01:12PM) (new)

Abigail Bok (regency_reader) | 783 comments Can you clarify, Gretchen? I see one nomination that doesn’t list the author and one book that doesn’t list author or publication month, but that leaves 5 that seem to be properly nominated.

In my nomination, for instance, I listed the month but not the year because 2022 is the default and the nomination instructions say “the month in 2022” (italics mine), not “the month and year.” I’ll just add the year to be on the safe side.
