Throughout the year we will be posting videos on YouTube called Cosmere 101 videos. These videos help you better understand the terminology for the world Brandon Sanderson has created. These videos will also help stir up discussion about the Cosmere and how certain books within it connect back to each other.

A wonderful participant suggested we make threads for you guys so we can discuss these videos, and here is the first one! In this thread we will be discussing Hoid! Also, in case you have not seen it, here is Lindsey's fabulous Cosmere 101 Hoid Video: http://youtu.be/K9QUN0lnn5k

If you are going to be posting spoilers PLEASE USE SPOILER TAGS and expressly state which book you will be spoiling. We don't want anyone's reading experience ruined.

Todd Jackson | 7 comments Hoid is definitely one of my favorite characters. Though the sad thing is that I read WoK and WoR before Mistborn so I didn't catch the Allomantic Easter egg in WoR. Also I didn't know about Hoid being a Worldhopper at the time, or even about Worldhopping for that matter, but it seemed as if he knew way more than anyone else about what was going on and about the world.

It is so interesting that you read the Stormlight Archives before the Mistborn trilogy! I never thought of how that would impact your experience when it came to the Cosmere as a whole. Very intriguing!

Sophie | 55 comments I had already heard of Hoid before reading The Final Empire so I easily spotted him when he appeared. It should be fun to play 'Where's Hoid' for some of the other books though. I think I remember he isn't named in all of them?

Todd Jackson | 7 comments Also I read WoR before Warbreaker, which was a big mistake. I'm happy that you guys are reading Warbreaker before WoR though.
