I started (well, I read the 1st couple of books when they first came out forever ago) the Alex Cross Series, so for this, I read Kiss the Girls by James Patterson. Good story, loved the dual seriel killers. Patterson's books read really fast which is good for ne too. I'm hoping to plow through the series and hope not to loss interest in the character(s).
Word: FinalBook: One Last Job
I read One Last Job by Anise Starre for the word Final in the key word challenge and honestly? 5⭐️ read. It was such a fun dislike to lovers with the perfect pacing for a slowish burn. I love strong-willed, passionate FMCS like Amber who is still admirable while having her insecurities. Finn was the perfect amount of arrogant and the ending?? Ugh so romantic. Can’t wait for other people to read it. It’s officially available today.
For this month, I chose a book by Dean Koontz: Final Hour. Since I have it on Kindle, I did not realize it was more of a short story (less than 100 pgs), so I hope to read another book for this month as well. I did enjoy the book, as I am a Dean Koontz fan. The book takes place in 1 day, just a matter of hours actually. It's about a Hawaiian girl and her surfer boyfriend who take down a psycho who is holding her twin sister captive.
I read Summer Rental By Rektok Ross it was a very quick thriller that you won't wnt to put down. I recommend it
• This Monstrous Thing - Mackenzie Leehttps://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...
Wow! I was surprised to find out that this is Mackenzie Lee’s debut novel. It’s extremely well written, and I don’t recall coming across any glaring editing errors, as I sometimes have when reading other debut novels. It’s been years (and years, and years…) since I first read Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, but it’s the type of storyline that’s pretty well known even if you haven’t read the book. I think Lee has created a fantastically vivid retelling, using a brilliant combination of alt history, gritty steampunk, and straightforward narration style. It’s been a long while since I breezed through a book so quickly.
Word: SummerBook: My Summer Darlings by May Cobb
At first I thought this would be too much of a romance for me, but there was enough mystery/suspense that I actually enjoy it.
I just finished reading "The Summer I Turned Pretty"I was really hoping to like this one as it has become a popular tv show but I was sadly a little disappointed. I just felt like the writing was immature and the story line was basically the same thing happening over and over again the entire time. I haven't seen the show, that might be better than the book.
I read Kisses and Croissants by Anne-Sophie Jouhanneau. It was a YA romance set in Paris. I thought it was ok. It wasn’t a deep book but it was cute and quick. However, the ending just threw me for a loop and felt like a sloppy way for the MC to end up with her love interest.
I plan to read a Kinder Poison! It's been in my TBR for a while and I'm excited to finally get around to it
Word: FinalBook: Final Girls by Riley Sager
This was a fun mystery to unravel, with plenty of red herrings. I'll say that Quincy had much more patience with Sam than I would have, at any rate! The end did come as a surprise, it's always the one you least expect. ;)
I'm reading "A Botanists's Guide to Parties and Poisons" because the cover is beautiful and I'm intrigued.
I read This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone. It was a little difficult to get immersed in this story to begin with. I listened to the audio book. After a couple of sections I went back to the beginning and slowed the pace which helped immensely. I did enjoy the book.

I read this one too in the past - I agree - it was hard getting into it. In the end, I didn't care for it.

Kiss: The French Kiss short detective story by James Patterson
In July I read THIS Book is Full of Spiders by Jason Pargin and I loved it. It’s the sequel to John Dies at the End which I also thoroughly enjoyed. Where has this dark humor/ science fiction genre been all my life!? Totally outrageous, slightly disturbing, hilarious and wicked smart- I can’t wait for the third installment.

I read A Trace of Poison by Colleen Cambridge. Loved this cozy mystery - not a genre I read often. The premise of Agatha Christie's housekeeper being an amateur sleuth was pulled off exceptionally well - I was skeptical, but well done!
