Tricot and Elephant Gym were both nommed by me in the much missed 'artists' game, so delighted to see you dug them so much Jim. That was after all the point of the thing (for me at least).
Getting down to mine, the big discovery for me was the Ghost Box label, thanks to Stuart Maconie's 'hauntology' special on the Freak Zone in mid-November, which featured a lot of music issued through the label, and of which I had been shockingly unaware before.Albums released this year

I'm almost ashamed to add my paltry purchases for 2022. In my defence, at 73 and with over 3500 CDs and lord knows how many vinyl albums, it's time I started slowing down a bit. But it's great that Jim and Tim can still get excited by new music.2022 releases:
Tanya Lee Davies - Dreamland
Jake Xerxes Fussell - Good and Green Again
Gang Of Youths - Angel In Realtime
Halfway - On the Ghostline, With Hands of Lightning
Joshua Hedley - Neon Blue
Rob Snarski - Searching For The Heart Of It All
Marlon Williams - My Boy
Various Artists - Melbourne in 60 Seconds
Various Artists - The Wonderful World Of Depressing Country Music (thanks to Helen for, if not recommending this, at least alerting me to it)
Older titles:
Martyn Bennett - Grit (2003)
Died Pretty - Everydaydream (2000)
Steve Hoy - Life Next Door (1990)
Sir Vincent Lone - Troubadour Heart (2008)
Jen Mize & Mark Sholtez - Twilight on the Trail (2019)
Supertramp - Famous Last Words (1982)
Various Artists - This Is...Eurovision (1997)
Various Artists - Chicanos Explode in Concert: Let Us Be Heard (1971)
Various Artists - Sunday Night Special (2014)
Various Artists - Where The Boys Are: The Songs of Neil Sedaka & Howard Greenfield (2011)
I am not organised like you lot, I keep no record at all of what I have bought and my memory is not good at all! I just order (or download) stuff and it arrives so I have no idea what I bought this year without looking at my order histories on various websites. Sorry.I think the "What are you listening to" thread would probably give a fair idea of what I have acquired this year.
No new releases for me. The only albums I appear to have bought this year are...
AC/DC "Power Up" (2020)
Def Leppard "On Through The Night (Remastered)" (1980)
Def Leppard "Slang (Deluxe Edition)" (1996)
Tyla's Dogs D'Amour "A Graveyard Of Empty Bottles MMXIX" (2019)
Only 2 from me this year. Danger Mouse & Black Thought - 'Cheat Codes'. Great hip hop album.
Just Mustard - 'Heart Under'. Cross between 80's goth band The Cranes and early industrial Depeche Mode. It's an album that you have to be in the mood to listen to. The beats hit harder than some heavy metal tracks but the variation just isn't there. Good for the occasional listen.
Sun's Signature - 'Sun's Signature'. Beautiful 5 track E.P. from Elizabeth Fraser and Damon Reece.
Albums from previous years;
Public Enemy - 'Yo Bum Rush The Show' - 1987
Public Enemy - 'It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back' - 1988
Public Enemy - 'Fear Of A Black Planet' - 1990
All 3 long overdue.
Orville Peck - 'Pony' - 2019

Alter Bridge - Pawn & Kings (only plus - Kevin Bacon on vocals)
King Buffalo - Regenerator (solid stoner as usual)
Korn - Requiem (i know I know...)
Neil Young & Crazy Horse - World Record (well...)

Sheepdogs eh? If you want uncomplicated retro rawk with twin lead riffs they got 'em up the wazoo, one of my gigs of the year in Manchester (even if Jimmy Bowsill has gone to pastures new) where they were knocking out the pair for a tenner each from the merch stand = duly bought.

Import duties seem to make it cost prohibitive for them to bring them in.
I see you bought a Stomu Yamash'ta compilation. I've got four of his albums:
Stomu Yamash’ta & Come To The Edge - Floating Music (1972)
Stomu Yamash'ta's Red Buddha Theatre - The soundtrack from 'The Man From The East' (1973)
Stomu Yamash'ta's East Band - Freedom Is Frightening (1973)
Stomu Yamash'ta - Raindog (1975)
I like the first one best due to the tracks Poker Dice and Xingu.

I'll probably get round to the Porcupine Tree album sooner or later as what I've heard from it, I like. Probably won't go for Björk's latest as what I've listened to seemed a bit downbeat, but the album cover is stunning.
