Doctor Who monsters- Daleks, Cybermen, Weeping Angels, etc.

Human monsters- Hannibal Lector, Iago, Nurse Ratched, etc.

Or, ones we would like to fight beside- Murderbot, Thor, R. Daneel Olivaw, etc.

Hmm, human monsters is interesting never thought about going that route.

Also, I have never seen an episode of Doctor Who so I don't know anything about those monsters unless they popped up in other things (books, movies, whatever)

Kaiju: Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra, King Ghidorah, Anguirus, King Kong, Gamera, Daimajin, Gappa, Guilala, Yonggary, etc.

Cthulhu mythos: Cthulhu, Star Spawn, Deep Ones, The Elder Things, Shoggoths, Yithians, Ghouls, Zoogs, etc. (there are loads of them, but Goodreads wouldn't let me post the link to the Wikipedia page).

That was the first thing I watched that scared me since I was a little kid and hid behind the sofa from the Daleks! lol.

You could mix it up and have a domestication wheel versus slaying so mythical creature you might want as a pet

I stopped a few episodes into Peter Capaldi's doctor as well. I did not know David Tennant was returning.

Well, he's only coming back for 3 episodes, but it's a start, lol.

Where are our bookish creatures first?

We've got a couple of Discworld ones already from TTX, plus a basilisk, and I'd add in things like:
- Tock the Watchdog from Phantom Tollbooth
- Nagini / Voldermort / Umbridge from HP
- Shelob, Gollum, Nagzul from LotR
- Pennywise because Jenny
- R Daneel (I Robot)
- Hot Prof's dinos
- Morlocks (and arguably also the Eloi) from The Time Machine
- Triffids
- Phantom from Phantom of the Opera

Dracula, Frankenstien etc if not elsewhere

Loving it! But angels or demons over 1000x? There are less than 20 books that qualify under angels, and none under Demons. maybe 100x would be more sensible?

Also, I may have been giving my brain a bit of exercise jotting down Stephen king monsters, villains and creatures (oh my!) and have thought of 40 off the top of my head. I could probably come up with more (he has written about 80 books! lol), but don't want to go too nuts, lol.

Cat, I am not sure if Judith shared with the other mods but I made a literary monster wheel. I have monsters from HP and LOTR and King. I tried to avoid human monsters but included:
- Shelob, Smaug, Balrog
- Pennywise because Jenny
- Morlocks (and arguably also the Eloi) from The Time Machine

I knew you had another in line, but couldn't remember details :)

and might have to shoe-horn the Triffids into that one too - I introduced my eldest nibling to the Triffids & Wyndham this summer - received pretty raptorously
