Well, I hope it helps you out with your TBR, because it always makes mine worse! LOL
Good luck Faouzia!

I know!!
I thought it better to keep away from this challenge to protect my TBR 😁 but I can't resist the temptation anymore:D
Thanks Alondra!

Thanks Alissa! I started it once and for no reason stopped halfway through it. This time I'm determined to finish it :)

Thanks Lea. Most of those titles have been in my TBR for years. Hopefully I'll manage to read them soon :)

Usually, everyone avoids the 12+4. I think this list is much more fun. Besides, no pressure to really complete; moreso, to make some decent progress.
I hope you enjoy it enough to continue each year.

I like your choice of books. Good luck!

I like how you've broken down your challenge. Some very challenging books and some series I'm also enjoying. Good luck with all of your selections, Faouzia.

Thanks a lot Ioana (although it's a bit late).

Thanks Bill. I enjoyed organizing the challenge now I have to actually start it lol!

I did manage to read a couple of books though, so that's a start.

So this was a classic from the 1950s, the title caught my attention in a bookshop once and I bought it on a whim.
Well the story on the whole was not bad: a bookseller and collector of rare books was murdered in his library. The characters of the rare books world were colourful and very interesting, the investigation wasn't. At some points it was rather boring with nothing much happening.
Overall it was ok.

This book hit too close to home actually. It is partly fiction partly autobiography of the author and it was telling the story of a group of friends who were separated in different continents and countries when they left their homeland. The story takes places decades later when they meet again at the funeral of one of the old friends.
It kind of reminded me of the friends I left behind, the fact that my two best friends are each on a different continent and made me think of the past and future.
Well, not an easy story to read but I liked it.

The Smoky Barrett series.
I read the first book of the series a while ago, but I didn't need to refresh my memory to get to the second one. It's the kind of stories that are difficult to forget. FBI agent Barrett handles some very disturbing crimes and serial killers and the fact that she was the victim in one of her cases makes her rather special.
I'm not usually skirmish but many scenes in the book were disturbing and more gruesome than necessary. The language was also many times rather crude and I honestly didn't see the need for it.
These factors are making me wonder if I want to stick to the series.
For the moment, I'm taking a break from it.

The Huntress/FBI series.
This series was a discovery for me. The first book part of my last years' challenge. In this book we follow FBI agent Roarke as he chases down the Huntress, a female serial killer who attacks only bad guys. And during this chase coming across new leads for a 25 years old horrible case.
I enjoyed reading it and I could feel that my interest didn't waver and I'm definitely going to read the next one in the series without a break!

This last one seems like one I'd be interested in.
That Smoky Barrett series - I agree with you to give it a rest! Best to move on to other authors you know you'll enjoy.

Understandable. So many of us are or at least, I am. LOL

I love making book lists, I hope I'd be able to stick to them as well 😁
I think I have 3 main topics for this challenge:
- Topic 1: Books I own and need to read ASAP
- Topic 2: Classics I wanted to read for a while now
- Topic 3: Series I need to keep reading
- Topic 4: Standalone books from other unfinished challenges
It sounds simple and easy. Well, we'll see how well I'd fare 😁
