I got my copy from the library. It’s so old it doesn’t have an ISBN. 😄 I’m afraid it will fall apart as I read it. I think we need to get a new copy.

I’ll be starting it soon. Have to finish the book on the Dionne quintuplets. It’s due Monday.

I have it on audible :) Just waiting to finish a few books that I started then will be reading it.

I am reading about Wang Lung getting ready to go get his "wife". I didn't remember that she was a slave and they just bought her. Wang Lung's internal dialog about how he won't have to do women's work and can lounge around in bed till later. This makes me shake my head.

I’m about a third of the way in. Women were not valued & probably still aren’t. Very well written.

Finished this morning. 4.5 stars ... so well-written, but I just cannot go 5 stars, mostly because overall I didn't like the story, but I do think she did a great job writing it.
