Happy New Year everyone. Niki, I see I am back on your team this, been a while, LOL.
To all hello, looking forward to this year.

There's certainly enough BRs scheduled this year to help with that, if any of them pique your interest! ^_^ Looking forward to reading with you again!
Katie wrote: "Oh for sure Nirkatze!! I think you might be in a few BRs that I looked into today for 2023 :D"Hehehe, that's awesome! I probably am! I'm also following a bunch that I haven't posted anything in yet, so even if you didn't see me in the comments I am still hoping to fit them in to read, most likely...
My beloved Tome Raiders! Like I do every year, I've concocted the grand scheme to find a Team Buddy Read to read together! Better yet, make it a Challenge and find a book that contains the name of the team in the title! What do you think? I even have some suggestions!
The Raider
Wolf Raider
Raider’s Treasure
Running with Raiders
Alien Raider's Prize
Zombie Apocalypse Vampire Raiders of Las Vegas(I mean, with a name like that, how could I not suggest it?)
Team bonding, everyone!
LOL Wow, that's a lot of shirtless men... LOL I'm down, though January is a beeet over booked.May I add:
Sky Raiders (on Libby)
Shadow Raiders (on Hoopla)
Junkyard Raiders <--this is #5, but I'd love to read the series...
Dragon Raider
Raiders of the Lost Corset (#4--but does that matter in random mystery series?)
Can't Spell Treason Without Tea (#1 of Tomes & Tea Cozy Fantasies)
Tome of the Undergates
Not sure if the same books'll be on libby/hoopla for y'all though...
I'm pretty much down for anything, if I can find a copy and have a few days. :)
I'm definitely up for a team buddy read. I'm ok for any of these options although Shadow Raiders (I already own this) and Dragon Raider definitely sound the most interesting to me (add a dragon and I'm always intrigued lol)

I mean, there is so much smut out there, it was not-at-all-surprisingly easy to find titles with titillating covers for your perusal.

And @Mel I love the X-Files meme!!

Oh. My. Gosh. That meme is wonderful XD
I feel like it's been forever. How have you all been? What have you been reading?? Sorry my reading track record has slowed a bit ^^; Does anyone have some quick positive read recommends to get me back into the swing of things? I'm reading Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow right now! :D

Dragon Heist
The Wizard's Butler
Starter Villain (when it comes out on the 19th)
Aimed for some standalone recommendations...

Awww, I get that. I hope it works out for your team. Changes in the system can be stressful.
I get that. I was let go from my job back in the spring due to changes and budget cuts. Luckily I have some freelance design works to bide my time and search for something else ^^;
Aww man, the reading challenge is over all ready?? Sorry I had such a slump at the end you guys! How is your reading going? :D
Pretty shiny, actually--enjoying the themed reads for the last month--lots of interesting spooky reads for Spooktober, and following it up with a nice therapeutic Cozy November to heal...Though I realized just now that we never followed up on any of those Tome Raider reads, did we? Maybe next year...
How's your reading looking, Katie?
Lol. I read shiny as something else 😅 I’m glad your reading is going well Nirkatze!! That combo of monthly reads sounds wonderful!! I may dip in for the cozy reads sometime this month!! Gotta find some books first!!We never did manage to schedule these great ideas. I loved them though!! Let’s for sure to try next challenge!!
Mine hasn’t been the best. Haven’t been that motivated while I’m still hunting for a stable job. Part time helps when it’s there. But your confidence really takes a hit with rejection after rejection. Blah.
But I am trying to read again! And hoping to join some BRs with all of you lovely people! I’m trying to finish Tomorrow Tomorrow Tomorrow right now. That and some Beast Stars. XD
What were some of your favorite spooky reads Nirkatze??
LOL I can see how "shiny" could be read as something unpleasant.I'm glad you found our Cozy thread! If you look on the first page, you'll see the lists a few of us put together... The ones that had at least three people interested have existing thread requests for 11/1, but there's been some popups too. I have my full list on my tracker under Cozy November:

For Spooktober, I think my favorites were Meddling Kids and Hidden Pictures, though I did enjoy most of them, actually. Back River Orchard was my least favorite, but mostly because traditional horror is not appealing to me, and it was very Stephen King.
Best of luck with the job hunt!!! I can see how stress is not conducive to reading. I will cross my fingers for you... not that that really does anything, just sending good vibes out into the cosmos and hoping for magic...
I've heard good things about Tomorrowx3 and Beast Stars--on my TBR and Watchlist, respectively. I hope some of the cozy reads might catch your interest--or if you have some in mind, share! I'm trying to do alternate cozy & regular BRs right now...
Thank you for the lists Nirkatze!! :DOooh! Those sound like good spooky reads!! I'm not a huge fan of horror in general either. Thrillers are more my appeal. But in the season it's fun to read/watch a mix of things~
Thank you for the good wishes! It's appreciated. Hopefully sometime soon everything will work out ^~^
Yay! I hope you enjoy them when you get around to them! I feel like people either love/hate Beast Stars. But I adore the characters so much! And the commentary on society is sooo good, even in this fictional world XD
For sure!! Hope to see you in some cozy reads~
Yeah I was pleasantly surprised by trying out all the different spookies. I think I'm in the same boat as you--I'm enjoying thrillers, but horror is not my thing. Will probably try out Beast Stars next summer--I often try to watch an episode of anime and exercise, but haven't been doing well with that lately. And it's always nice to get a recommendation before jumping into something too!
For cozy reads, my favorites so far have probably been That Time I Got Drunk and Saved a Demon for the romance and pure shenanigans, though the writing is definitely indy, the audio made me not notice as much. The Left Hand of Dog for further shenanigans, just a lot of cute LOL moments, and some good thinkings--very Hitchhiker's Guide without the stuff that annoyed me. Again on indy writing, and audio making me not care. Finally Cursed Cocktails was just a really sweet cozy read and was a nice little jaunt. I think all three of those books are independently published, so I also like being able to give them some more reads & reviews.

Oh my gosh! Those sound really great! I'm gonna add them to my list :D
