Agreed! New Year, new thread! Happy new year all. Hope this one is a good one!

message 5: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1811 comments Happy New Year! :) What are you major plans/goals for the 2023?

message 6: by Gord (new)

Gord | 1089 comments The biggest thing I want to work on is more walks. I started walking a lot this year (4.2 km every day to work) and I wanted to set a goal for this year. I was partially inspired by those online walking challenges like "Walk to Mordor!" and stuff like that. My goal this year is to walk 2,000 km my December 31st. I was going to go out for a walk today but I got sick. Not a great start to things but I'll make it up somewhere.

I don't tend to make goals for the New Year because I never stick to them. But I am hoping to get back into exercising with my Ring Fit Adventure, just because it helps a lot with my mental health (aside from the obvious physical benefits lol)

This sounds fun! And honestly, that type of challenge would get me to walk more lol. Hope you feel better soon though! I was sick two weeks ago and I still have a lingering cough that I'll probably have for a while longer. So annoying 🙄

message 9: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1811 comments @Gord that goal sounds amazing! I'm also trying to walk more and it's sometimes hard to walk out of your apartment :D

@Lili agreed! Exercising is so great! Hope you manage to incorporate more into your busy schedule :)

message 10: by Elena (new)

Elena Granger | 1811 comments As for me, I went a little bit too ambitious previous year with all the dancing and ballet goals, I hit the goal and could dance a small routine in pointe shoes, but! never again 🤣.
This year I decided to go without any goals, just relax and do whatever I want, probably will try to learn more work related things this year, as I usually do, like... always raise the bar.

Liliana (lililostinabook) | 3012 comments Mod
Elena that's amazing! Ballet sounds like it is such a difficult thing to learn!

message 12: by Jo (new)

Jo Elliott | 1871 comments I haven't really set my goals for the year yet, I'll be doing my reading/blogging/writing goals at some point later in January, but one thing I really would like to do is finish off some of the series on my series-to-finish shelf, I've got quite a few where I've only got one or two books left to finish a series and it would be nice to clear some of them off list this year.

message 13: by EdenB15 (new)

EdenB15 Hi guys I am so so sorry my goodreads account wouldn’t let me write comments for ages for some reason but anyway I’m back now Wohoo and happy new year to u all

Great goals all! Elena awesome about the pointe shoe routine. Sometimes no goal is the best way to go.

Im waiting for clearance from physio at work tomorrow for my back. I like to do a 30 days of movement to start the year but this year will be a bit late. Sometimes I do a yoga challenge for it, others just the minimum of 30 minutes of real physical activity aside from all the walking at work. Hoping to do a ton more aerial hoop and get back to pole after my scare back in the fall.

Thanks! I have another week before I can go back to aerial hoop. But it should heal 100% so there's that!

message 18: by Gwen (new)

Gwen | 83 comments Hey hey! It's been quite a while since I was active here. College, work and my health were consuming most of my time, but I hope to get back into reading soon.

I'm a bit late now, but still, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! :)

So I've been making a bunch of bathbombs. They are lovely. I made little ones and stuck them in the little stockings at work for my coworkers.
Well funny story, one of my coworkers didn't realize it was a bath bomb. She thought it was a blue cookie and took a bite. It was a very gross and foamy cookie. She was driving and tried to rinse it with water, which you know made more foam!
So I have learnt that I guess I need to write for bath not mouth on them....

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Hi!!!!! Been awhile here, like Gwen, because of school and work and life!

My daughter was home from school and its been fantastic to have her in town! Also, got engaged on NYE!! Y'all, he did so good and it felt like I was living some romcom story <3

As someone who loves glitter, I don't think there's such a thing as too much sparkle 😆 lol

message 28: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments Deets... he got my best friend and daughter to wake me up early in the morning with roses and cards basically explaining the day: we went to get nails done, dress shopping for a nice dress (also going to a Fae Ball in March so double use!), and then friend did hair and makeup. We left after that and she gave me the next card which gave a clue to go to where we first met - where his best friend was waiting with a rose and a card to the next location. First date location, his brother was waiting, rose and card in hand and a glass of wine ready! Third location was to this really cool dog park/bar we took our puppy to for our first "outing" with the newest family member; once again his bestie was there with the card directing us to this nice winery/restaurant where him, a few other friends, his grandma, my son and his dad and bonus mom were all seated and waiting! Last card asked me to marry him <3 He also got the inside of the ring engraved with "hello earthling" which is from some of my mom's writing that I got tattooed in her handwriting after she passed away; said he wanted her to be a part of it all *insert lots of crying here*

... and how do I share photos? lol I never figured that out on here!

Omg! So I just found out we're throwing my cousin a book themed baby shower (she's a librarian and pregnant with her first!) and I am EXCITED! One of my other cousins is planning it and I basically signed myself up to help, for obvious reasons. Lol. I've started a Pinterest board and everything. Lol. Anyway, I just had to share. Lol.
