Emmi (emzcureads) (emzcu) Robin Hobb has been my favorite author ever since I was 12 and read the first book of the Farseer Trilogy. I have had this book in my bookshelf since it was published but it's always been one of those easy-reads that have fallen into the category "I'll read it after this book...after this book...after this book". But now I finally had the perfect opportunity to read it. I started a bit early and finished it today..so here's my small review. Hope someone else will want read it too, I definitely recommend it.

Oh, how I love everything to do with the Six Duchies! This book definitely did not disappoint. Totally needed my Hobb-fix for the first quarter of the year.

The book read like a fairytale for children but at the same time, with all the past knowledge of the land and the politics, it felt like a natural continuance of the other books. It was very interesting to find out how the persecution of the Witted began. And true to Hobb-style, the author definitely didn't shy away from grief and misery.
