Solved-Like Three Little Kittens Children's Book but a different story line where a bird (Blue Jay?) puts the kittens mittens in a tree and the kittens have to try and get them back. Read in the 80's or 90's.

The Jean Marzollo version of Three Little Kittens features a blue jay that the kittens are chasing in a tree. It was published in 1985. Goodreads doesn't have an image for it, but if you do a search for "jean marzollo three little kittens" there are plenty of images online, including someone on youtube reading the whole story.
